Yup, and a large and beautiful looking title like The Witcher 2 only cost $10.3M to make. So I guess very linear and beautiful Order 1886 should be $30-$40M?

Where do these extra $60-$70M come from?

Marketing. For films and GTA/COD it's often larger than the production budget. This won't be that high but as an AAA game it'll still be high.

Publishing expenses, such as localisation, sales, management, etc.

And external consultants for the very high tech engine and cutscene production.

And finally, if you read the interviews with RED, that was in terrible conditions, working hours and low salaries even for Poland. I imagine the staff were substantially better treated in cali even after wage differences.

I still say you are going to be way off your $100M prediction and 6M sales requirement.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

"of [sic] course I am biased[,] but yeah…"

Wtf does that even mean, "of course" is perfectly written there and the comma is not compulsory. Lolworthy journalism, trying to correct a guy who needed no correction and looking dumb in the process.

Sorry for the random off-topic rant, but these things piss me off sometimes...

Then expect it to be a short game that's on rails. That's the only way this could be possible on a realistic budget.

As long as it's a good game, I don't mind it being short, as long as it's longer than like, 3-4 hours, since that's way too short... let's say 6ish hours, and if it has some sort of multiplayer or replayability, it'll be fine... I'm basically treating this as another sort of Uncharted game, well, in a sense anyway, it seems like it could be a very cinematic game that looks great to watch :)

A campaign based game being 6 hours? No..just no

I could not fathom spending 90 bucks on Super Mario 3 or close to 120 for Final Fantasy IV.

"games are more expensive than ever," which is demonstrably false. There's plenty of things worth complaining about when it comes to video games, but current prices aren't one of them.

Misleading, because inflation-adjusted wages haven't increased over that time. A game still takes the same fraction of disposable income now as it did then.
, in other words it feels just as expensive to the buyer.
