1. i would say 100k+ but it doesnt realy matter, because 2. 300-400k i guess, the game just doesnt look so expensiv, and nintendo is realy good at making games cheap.

Those are not the important questions. The real question is: how much could it already have sold if it hade also launched on other platforms? And the answer is probably 4-5 million at the very least, i think even more.

You can't justify missing out on that many sales forever, i can almost see the Playstation Mario boxart already.

NSMB Wii is a direct result of porting NSMB DS over to their home console. They've done it before with lots of other IP. Iwata just went to the well one too many times.

To me , this game should have been 3DS and we have been robbed of the true 3D Mario. That's why I like this game selling poorly. It can say "never do it anymore" to Nintendo. Galaxy's games sold great.

Wii U install base: 4,3 million
Mario 3D world,
worldwide sales::  0,71 million
Attachrate:
17.3%

3DS install base:
39,5 million
Zelda A Link Between, worldwide sales: 0,8 million
Attachrate: 2.0%

I quite unfair to say that Mario 3D world is selling poorly since consoles sell less the handhelds. And Wii U install base inst the highest either.
Almost every fifth Wii U owner owns Mario 3D world thats a hight attachrate, imagine if the installbase would have been higher. And Miyamoto
has hinted that Galaxy game could be in the making, but knowing Nintendo thier allways trying something.

Yes I take great personal enjoyment in games selling below expectations, it is the most exciting thing I do in my life.

Would PS fans really buy Mario games ? They´re not even buying Knack.....or Rayman.....

yeah, it might sell something on sony consoles... but we are now actually discussing if it is a commercial failure or not the way it is. And it´s still too early too tell.

I decided to look up the sales because all this talk about it being a flop. It has sold 700K, in my opinion that is very good given the poor sales of Wii U.

Mario games aren't known for mega launches, the series has mega legs. I expect a good boost from Christmas as well.
