Apple has no problem launching new products that sell many times the initial PS4 sales. Samsung sold 80 million smart phones last quarter. It's no wonder Sony is no longer in the top tier of world electronics manufacturers.

Apple and Samsung are in a position to put much more pressure on their contract partners. Additionally Samsung can produce most components on their own.

Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, HTC, LG... get the production capacities which Samsung & Apple don't reserve for themselves.

Apple has no problems? Sony did great with the PS4 launch.

Investors remain concerned that Apple may not be able to produce enough second-generation iPad mini units with Retina displays, with one analyst on Monday predicting that the company may not be able to ramp up production to satisfactory levels until next year.

Have you seen the size of an iPhone case? I don't think you are quite considering the logistics and storage on this one.

Also, AFAIK iPads for instance have seen shortages before.

Huge difference.....

Apple sold nearly 23 Million iPad last quarter... thats almost **2 million iPads sold every single week for 12 weeks straight** .. They are worried with demand GROWING for the holidays they won't keep up..

Converse to that Sony has sold about 1.7 million consoles in ... what ?  almost  4 weeks..

imo both systems were rushed a simple look at the UI will tell you this both lack a lot of basic features the ps360 can do. ps4 is having some HW issues some could be attributed to online retailers handling (imo the ps4 box and HW protection in the box is very poor compared to the early ps3) and even user handling as seen in the Eu launch vids. theres no doubt that there are real HW issues i am also victim of the DS4 rubber wear on the analog sticks along with many others that can be seen on the long gaf and sony threads. there is no excuse that the analog sticks rubber should show wear in 2 weeks or any amount of time as seen by ps1 and 2 controllers

also the demand after launch is quite high i dont think either manufacture saw this if you look at other gens sales

I thought that was considered fake. Did these guys call you out for beating up your controller? They got very defensive when the couple of guys said this.

I also think both systems were rushed. How were you not able to have the Xbox patch on the shipped system? How can you not play regular fucking DVD out the box with PS? These launches although a success are a mess to me.

I am replying to fact it was stated that Apple have no problems launching new products that sell many times the initial PS4 sales.

As the article shows Apple can also have issues and problems with meeting production targets, the article is also saying there may be yield issues in developing the ipad mini retina display. Because of the production issues, growth is low. From the article it states that 23 million will be sold up from 22.9 million in the same quarter a year ago, not a massive increase to be worried about is it.

Sony had a successful record breaking launch with the PS4 and are doing great.

I have went to several online sites such as amazon and the likes and they are totally out of stock on both.

I fail to understand why both companies would be so unprepared.
I am not getting one yet btw I was just curious.
Is it possible that they could be that stupid?
I mean one could say this is clever marketing by creating false demand but even that doesn't hold up in the real world.

Just thought I would put it out there as I am sure there are heads that visit the site who would know how this works.
I just find it totally bemusing tbh as they both knew the xmas market was upon us.

So stupidity or false shortage to create demand?
Your thoughts maybe.

no 5-6hrs on COD ghost SP and another 15-20hrs on its MP noticed it after 2nd week, both sticks had peeling/wear off intial layer after the intial layer goes it wears much faster, im also an adult so i dont abuse my controllers

i noticed that aswell in the threads but after a lot more users reported it, it stopped and is taken more seriously i would even go and say that all the intial DS4 controles sticks will peel
