Why keep coming back if you're bored? Go do something else or take a break from the site for a few days / weeks / months.

Life is short, I say if it's not fun or productive, why do it? Going on this site is not productive and isn't beneficial to anybody at the end of the day. That means, it falls into the "fun" or "entertaining" category. At the times you are bored on here, leave.

Hmmm, it looks like many of your threads are questions posed.  Maybe you should dig deep about something you feel very strongly about and take a hard stance on it.  I would think that a very motivated/creative post would get the most interesting replies and topic all-around.  Just a thought  :)

Now is the best time though, start of a new generation and holiday season, the sales threads are incredibly busy and the forums are more alive than in several years.
There are a lot of threads covering the same-ish subject, yes, no doubt, but overall it's still an enjoyable site.

It's mostly because the console wars are in full swing, and most threads that don't have to do with graphics comparisons fall by the wayside. Even if they're interesting, insightful discussions, they simply don't get as many posts. And they quickly fall out of the Hot Topics section which is where I assume most people post.
