It runs Windows, its just a matter of a quick backup and HDD format every 6 months...

I somini still hard at work trying to make "informative" negative post about old news that has been already reported among the Xbox community if you were remotely interested by the console...

@puppyroach yeah I boot from standby in 7 second and cold boot in less than 15 and that's including entering the password... And that"s when I turn it off to save battery on trips... Otherwise it is never shut down or even in standby for months... The only thing causing issues is Facebook after being open for days in IE with more than 20 other tabs on several windows at any given time which fixes itself by killing the browser in the worst cases... I basically reboot for updates... Win 7 never equaled win 8 performance for me

Has the cold boot time decreased since release?

I think he was talking about his Windows 8 OS on his laptop.

I have an xbox1 day one console and I've had to power cycle the system due to a loss signal and screen freezes on the tv due to the HDMI input. When I first got the system it wouldn't turn on because the power brick didn't have enough power...seems like system needs a lot of juice to work and its doesn't help that UI is not what MS advertised. I have not experienced a seamless responsive kinect xbox1, most likely I will just turn off the kinect and unplug it from the system, but I am holding out to see if they do an update to resolve the issues. However, it will probably take three or four UI evolutions before they get it right...but with kinect it might never get to what they advertised.

What's the point of this?? ou don't need to argue everytime something negative about xbox or MS is posted, both systems have some bugs from launch, this is an issue some are having it's been posted many places,

The OP asks if im having problems, i said no.

I've experienced this when leaving a game in suspend mode for too long(days.)

Solution so far is to either:

Not use the suspend function with games (currently a beta feature.) You can do that by using the menu button and choosing "close app/game" every time you're done playing.

Or

Enable "energy saving mode" which will make the X1 shut down every time you turn it off instead of going into standby mode.

Important to note that it's not really a stutter but more like the dashboard is being rendered at a locked 15 FPS when the issue occurs. It doesn't affect any games or apps, just the dashboard.

NO PROBLEMS YET IN PERFORMANCE, all my games ares digital atm though.

^Yes that's me ripping it up in the GIF. :)

I haven't taken out Battlefield 4 since Day One. Switching between that, Killer Instinct, and soon DR3. Console hasn't been unplugged or needed a cold boot. My Dashboard comes up faster than my TV does from the Xbox On command. Which is like 10-15 seconds. Switching between apps and games is flawless, Kinect works 99.9% of the time now that I calibrated it to listen to me with my volume all the way up. Using Battlefield voice commands are so easy like saying "Next time spawn as (whatever class)", "medic" or "need ammo" and much more. Haven't used gestures yet though.

I have noticed some slowdown once and I did an energy saver shutdown. Other than that everything else is running smooth. Just the other night I was playing some BF4. In an instant I said "Xbox go to Skype", called my friend then "Xbox go to BF4." I love this voice instant switching. It literally took me 2 seconds to call someone on Skype and switch back to a game I was playing. I did this in the time it took for me to respawn.

Well considering you control your respawns in BF I would hope so lol
