The Wii U doesn't need to be "saved". It's not dying or kidnapped. Donkey Kong will sustain Wii U sales a little in the gap between Christmas and the release of Mario Kart 8.

Nintendo must of felt Donkey Kong was bigger because that is what they showed. Or maybe they are just delusional. Or maybe Reggie just likes Donkey Kong.

Why don't you tell us your pov? Will DK "save" the Wii U? Can a single game even "save" a gaming console? What do you define as "save"? If the Wii U needs saving does that mean the wii U is doomed?

I know the OP is just ripping on Nintendo per normal but...

Wii U won't ever actually compete or be "saved" unless Nintendo makes it stand out against the 3DS.

My personal belief is that Nintendo HH's tend to over shadow their consoles. After all, for most consumers one Nintendo system should be enough. (Per gen) The Wii was highly successful because it offered something unique, and distended itself from the DS enough.

People will look at Wii U & 3DS and most will pick 3DS.

I hope that SSB will get good sales, if there's a game to get it's that.

Or maybe it was the only thing that they had ready to show off that wouldn't have been either a retread of something already revealed ("hey, look at this video of Sonic vs Mega Man vs Mario in Smash Bros") or something too big to show at a US-centric event (such as Zelda U)?

Mario Kart 8 will be the system seller, it'll help increase weekly sales of the Wii U. Not sure about the long term, Wii U needs more.

Why sin't Reggie a playable character in Donkey Kong yet? They look so much alike....

price cuts and good librayrs save systems, it will shurley help though, especially if it's reviewed as well as mario.
