It happened right in the middle of me playing Super Mario 3d World. The guy I spoke to at tech support was about the dumbest person alive, and to add insult to injury they are trying to charge me almost $200 to send it in for repair because the warranty ended 2 weeks ago. I told him for that much I could almost buy a new one. His words exactly were: "I don't recommend buying a new one because if that one breaks then you'll have two broken Wii U's.".....,FUCKING IDIOT! Sorry for the rant. Just needed to get this off my chest.
UPDATE: Spoke to a supervisor this morning and Nintendo is going to repair it free of charge. It turns out the guy I spoke to last night didn't even have my info typed in correctly. I don't know what the guys deal was, but It definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. Alls well that ends well I guess. It still sucks I'll be with out SM3dW for almost 2 weeks. The GameStop down the street has a couple of PS4's in stock....I think I'm about to take a ride.
UPDATE (again): All is well in the Mushroom Kingdom It was just a faulty ac adapter after all. Nintendo is sending me another one free of charge, and it should be here by Wednesday. As it turns out, Nintendo consoles are in fact, immortal. Dying is just not in their repertoire. And for those wondering I went ahead with the impulse buy and got a Ps4 :-} Now if y'all will excuse me, I've got a new toy to set up.
"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."
