Forums - Sony Discussion - PS Vita, Do you have one? How do you like it?

Definitely the best handheld hardware ever. Its capabilities are far superior than 3DS's.

I import my games so I have plenty to choose from and already enjoyed quite a lot of them. And seeing the release schedule in Japan, 2014 will be a Vita-only year for me. I don't think my 3DS will be much of use from now on...

Have it but its collecting dust. Not enough good games out (for the moment)

The analog sticks are the worst EVER they are way to sensitive "loose"(as in no resistance when you try to move them) so when you want to turn just a bit you almost do a 360). Not good at all when for hectical gameplay situations.

The Dpad (actually buttons not pad) is/are great tbh one of the best I have EVER seen (why they fucked up the analogs tho is beyond me) Everytime i play PS3 now I wish it had the Vita dpad (makes me sad...T.T)

The screen (oled version) is great when it comes to most bright colors BUT when displaying darker colors you can see how they used super cheap oled tech. And grey/brown/and black as well as dark blue/purple (all darker colors) are fucked up. (google vita oled spots etc) Playing dark games like GravityRush is no fun that way.

The graphics are great and super crisp as long as the games run in native resolution. Some first party games dont (Gravity Rush etc.)

Using it as a controller for PS3 (maybe PS4) requires you to buy a PSVita "app" for that specific game each time. So its not really cheap.

And as far as I know using it as a WiiU Gamepad type controller requires the game to have that specific option. So you cant just go and play every game on the Vita.

CrossBuy is really awesome. Best thing Sony has come up with in decades.

Everything I said applies to the Oled Vita. I have no idea about the LCD vita.

I think the analogue sticks are the best you can expect from a portable games console.

I don't understand what you mean about controlling the PS3? You can't use it as a controller, but you can remote play every PS4 game, but some developers haven't bothered to impliment the controls properly

Have it, love it. I try to play it everyday, hot shots has been taking up most of my time :D

Yes I have one and like it. Gravity Rush is one of the best new IP's of the GEN for any console. Certain games provide a PS3 like experience that is portable.  (i.e. Uncharted and Wipeout) Once in awhile a game releases for it that is muliplat and better on Vita also. (Persona and Dragon's Crown for example). Tearaway is a masterpiece. Personally, I loved the separate Batman Origins game for it too.  The Hot Shots on it is the best entry in the series.  Killzone Mercenary is the biggest technological achievement on a portable system in at least 2 decades.

I own one. For well over a year now. I love it.

Here are a few things that I love about my Vita.

(1) The large screen. Its beautiful, games looks crisp and colors are the best I have ever seen on a handheld.

(2) The games. The ability to port perfect console games are a HUGE plus. SFXTekken, Need For Speed, Wipeout, Ultimate Marrvel vs Capcom3 play well and controls superb.  It also plays your ps1 titles.

(3) Original IP's. Yes, the Vita has some trully standout content so far. Soul Sacrifice, Guacamelee, Gravity Rush, Tearaway, Dokuro are a few of my favorites.

(4) Cross Buy. This is a feature that Sony does not get enough credit for. You pay 1 price you get both versions ps3/Vita game. This is so consumer friendly, in this money hungry industry.

(5) The graphics. I admit, Im a graphic whore. I have always wanted games to look on par with real life. Grass, trees, buildings, people movement, vehicles etc. The Vita has brought my dreams full circle.

Things I hate about my Vita.

(1) Memory. I would have thought Sony would follow what they did with the pspGo and put at least 16 Gigs of internal memory. I have upgraded my memory card twice now, from 4,to 8 to now 16gigs. I think im at the sweet spot. I currently have 11 games downloaded to my Vita and erase and re-download when needed.

(2) The price, (I bought mine at $250), But I think at $179 its at a perfect price point.

My personal thought, More gamers need to support the Vita. The tech is there, the games are there and with plenty of Indle titles coming from here on out. Remote play with your PS4 is great if you have a strong connection. I play from work and at many local starbucks and I luv it. As always,

Keep on Gaming.

I bought mine in September, primarily in anticipation of the PS4 launch. So far I've played games like Gravity Rush, Tearaway, Uncharted, a load of indies etc. Since getting the PS4 I've used remote play as well. It works great for AC but not so well for Madden.

All in all, I think it is a wonderful piece of hardware and the software is much better and more plentiful than people think. It is a huge pity that, to date at least, it has not sold in the numbers that its quality merits.

Almost everyone who has one seems to love it, I was never a handheld guy but love the vita. Sad it's not selling well deserves more. y's and tearaway the last 2 weeks and both outstanding.

I have had it since day one, an i like it a lot, playing battelfield 4 ps4 on vita is fun :D. but i recommend to get splunky, rayman and killzone mercenary on it.

Beast handheld, it certainly won't disappoint. Especially with PS+. The Tearaway bundle is worth getting. PS Vita, 16gb memory card, Little Big Planet and Tearaway for £150 on Amazon!
