Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why does the back of the case for xbox one games doesn't tell you what the video output or resolution of the game? Is it 720p, 1080p or what?

Microsoft tell me why? You think they're hiding it? What's your thoughts?

Because they don't even know. Cloud can do magical things like making the Xbox One avatar graphics

I just looked on the back of a few of my 360 games and they all say the same thing, HDTV 720p/1080i/1080p.  Maybe they got sick of putting the same thing on every box.

Does it matter? Video OUTPUT and NATIVE resolutions are two completely different things. Almost every PS360 game lists their supported resolutions on the back of the box up to 1080p for example... that doesn't mean that the games are NATIVE 1080p.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Im talking about the xboxone. The ps4 is native 1080p while the xboxone is only 720p native on same games. You should progress not degress.

its pretty obvious you made this thread to talk about how some PS4 games have higher res than some xbox games. however its obvious you dont know what you are talking about. whats really important on the back of the box is the video output, not the native output. that way people can know if their tv is compatible.

there is no MS hiding anything here, no bad news and no secret meaning.

its whatever you want you can force your xb1 to output at resolutions below 1080 in the settings all xb1 games are upscaled to 1080 using default settings so theres no use of wasting the print on the box

it doesnt even matter last gen at least on ps3 games were less than 1080 and even 720 but the box said 1080

The back of the case doesn't tell you anything about video output or native resolution. Do you know what you're talking about? No. Do you think people would buy the game if it said 720p on the xboxone versions? No.
