good work.

How is being anti consumer good work? :/

no matter what MS did-It's always good work for kowenicki. No matter what they do they simply can do no wrong for him.Haven't seen one single critical comment from him about ms in this year, and this year was full of strange decisions made by MS.

I know full well how biased he is, i just can't believe someone would be so closed minded as to praise a company for anti consumer policies. I didn't think even he was that biased.

Remember when I brought this up and people were brushing it off?  Now Microsoft admits it.

Umm ok Mr. Conspiracy. You do realize this parity is in relation to when the game releases right? Nothing to do with content or resolution.

"We do not require exclusivity agreements. However, we do ask for day one parity with other console game platforms," a Microsoft spokesperson told SavyGamer.

"In instances where games have signed a timed exclusive with another platform, we'll work with them on a case by case basis."

Really?  Release date parity huh?  That text I bolded reads quite different.  How can you have release date parity on a timed exclusive?  And why would they have to take a case by case basis, on a game that if has already released on the PS4 and would be getting the same content on the Xbox One unless it can't handle the resolution and the framerate?

In fairness I think he owns some shares in MS, so the financial incentive gives him more reason than most to defend MS - I think most people would if they thought they might make money off it

battlefield 4 on PS4 runs at 900p  vs 720p on the xbox one without a day one patch. the simple matter is that the devs just needed some extra time to work on optimisation. AC4's 1080p patch came out a few days after launch, not day one.

get over yourself. its not anti ms consumer.  I am currently an ms consumer.

No one said anti-you, they said anti-consumer. This is obviously anti-consumer for all other consumers than MS customers.

The AC4 patch came out the day the Xbox One version launched.

Battlefield 4 was 900p, yeah.  It means that Microsoft didn't enforce it on them or they didn't accept.  CoD Ghosts was 1080p for multiplayer.  You're required to get online for multiplayer so it's pointless to require a patch to patch online.

Read this specifically.

"In instances where games have signed a timed exclusive with another platform, we'll work with them on a case by case basis."

What do they have to actually work with?  If it's timed exclusive on another platform and they port it over, what's there to work with?  They'd obviously port it with all the content.  What that reads is that if it's timed exclusive for another platform and the game runs in 1080p on the other platform but can't quite reach 1080p on the Xbox One, then Microsoft will suck it up and take it at a lower resolution.

I'm not sure what some of you people are on about, parity in that context could mean just about anything. I get the feeling that it means content parity, not graphical parity, and that's a good thing, not a bad thing, developers shouldn't be giving exclusive content to one platform over another, timed exclusivity is one thing, but full on exclusive content is anti-consumerist.

"In instances where games have signed a timed exclusive with another platform, we'll work with them on a case by case basis."

Have you ever read anything that's timed exclusive to have exclusive content?  So what's there for Microsoft to work with on a case by case basis?  It's resolution, and what they're saying when they say they'll work with them on a case by case bassis is that if the game has already been released on another console, then they'll suck it up and take the lower resolution if the Xbox One underperforms.

parity on consoles platforms, they are still able to release on pc first.
