Forums - Gaming Discussion - Ebay Prices for Xbone v. PS4 v. Wii U

The prices for these things on ebay are starting to paint a clearer picture, atleast to me of what is going on out there in terms of demand.  PS4's are selling for about 600 - 620 each.  Xbones are about $570 - $585.   Wii U Mario Bundles are about $335 to $340.   If I include tax then PS4's are marked up about $180, Xbones are marked up $30 - $40 and Wii U bundles are marked up about $20.   The supply is a mystery but I really doubt that Microsoft is actually moving every unit that they are producing, like they say they are. If they are then they are beating PS4 right now because there is no way a gap that big would exist unless there were massive PS4 shortages.  I think all the advertising for the Mario Bundle is paying off for Nintendo too.  Being marked up $20 does'nt sound like much but it must mean that some people are having a hard time finding them.

I don't normally endorse this sort of thing...having said that I did make a 350(australian) dollar profit on a ps4 over the weekend. I actually went to my eb to cancel my preorder the day before the ps4 launched here (last fri) but the sales assistant talked me out of it and suggested I buy it (since I was lucky enough to be allocated one) and resell it on ebay... so I listed it on gumtree (which is an online sale site we have here in oz, geared more towards local pickup than mail orders)...I figured if he was wrong at worst I'd be stuck with the ps4, which I still want to get next year sometime anyway. I had at least 20 offers for about a 200-250 markup but I held out for 350 then decided not to push my luck (dunno if this is true but there was a report on some sites that more would be available here before xmas, so I was possibly wise to sell it when I did. Keep in mind it sells for $550 here though, so I sold mine for 900 aus dollars.
