that has been the expected announcement due to a supposed leak, but with Keighley saying "world premeire" there may be something else, but it could be the world premeire of cranky kong.

I desperately want it to be a new game or an awesome Zelda U, but this is post-2010 Nintendo we're talking about. When do they ever deliver on their hyped reveals/conferences/directs anymore? I am braced for disappointment.

as you should be, Ill be expecting cranky kong, but if it's something else then I'll get excited and surprised then

There was a rumor that Reggie was going to annouce that Kranky Kong was going to be the 4th playable character in Tropical Freeze lol :P. I really hope its not true.

DKC has been my favorite game since I was a kid but if thats all they do at VGX then they are going to get laughed at, and I won't be on here defending them either.

it wouldn't be uncharacteristic for Nintendo to announce cranky kong, it just seems like something Nintendo would do.  After all, they did troll us with Wii fit trainer for Smash.

They did but I do remember them announcing Mega Man and The Villager 1st in the Nintendo Direct and then the Wii Fit Trainer came out later in the day.  I just think showing Cranky at the VGX would get more laughs then applause.  I hope he is in it but Nintendo needs to cater to the core gamer a little more right now.  I bought a Wii at launch just to play Twilight Princess and DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2, not Wii Sports.....I won't lie though  Wii Sports was amazing at the time.

I'll be so mad if it turns out to be Cranky Kong... Give us a NEW game! Maybe even a new IP? No, that's hoping for too much... Hopefully it's a new Star Fox, Metroid or Zelda and nothing stupid like a new character for a game.
