this isnt a nintendo event, this is the Spike Video Game Awards. its usually called the VGA's, but this year they are naming it the VGX. many publishers attend and a lot of games are announced. VGA 2011 The Last of Us was announce. and at VGA 2010 Uncharted 3 was announced. im not sure what other games got announced at the events in the past but i think skyrim was announced at an event too. anyways to answer your question its on the 7th of this month. 

Doesn't "premiere" refer to the first time showing a game/movie?
I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but a new game or Zelda U would be AMAZING.

My X-Ray vision says that whatever is in that folder will melt human eyes. In all seriousness there is a Pokemon 3DS on it. Maybe it's a hint at a Wii U Pokemon game. I think that would sell more units than even Zelda. That quick little teaser video of Pokemon Wii U also showed that the Wii U may have some more graphic juice to it then we realize. Those shadows beneath Lucarios tail looked like something on a PS4.

Probably FF or some other 3rd party game. I expected something like this since PS4 sales have now dropped below Wii U WW. Now that 3rd parties see it isn't all it was made out to be I expect more to follow

Now I am just waiting on the "Sony needs to drop the PS4" " Sony needs to go 3rd party articles" etc
because they now have 2 platforms falling behind Nintendo.

It could be a new trailer for X, with a release date, that game is not very well known and could be a hit in that kind of show.

there is nothing nintendo can show about DK that they cant do at any nintendo direct. VGX is a big and there will be big stuff announced there. showing more footage of a game that we seen a lot of already would do more harm than good.  im thinking  a new game or some pretty insane smash bro's footage. unless of course nintendo wants to continue its horrible marketing.

Reggie and Co. do seem really relaxed about the Xbone and PS4 hitting the market. Maybe it's just public posturing but Nintendo always seems to have a couple aces up their sleeve. Showing up at VGX also looks to me that Nintendo realized that they screwed up by not doing a BIG E3 press conference.
