It is sad that some are trying to downplay why it doesn't matter. If it didn't matter why are we still not playing in 480p? Some good points here, it is called progress. There is a reason 1080P is the mark people have been trying to hit for years. Not on you tube or cherry picked stills, on a decent 1080p display, the difference is very noticeable.  Is it everything?? No, but it certainly matters. If I had a choice to play the same game in 720P or 1080p, I think any logical person would rather 1080p.

I come from a  pc gaming background, resolution makes a big difference.

No one said it couldn't but as often is the case it won't, or concessions have to be made that PS4 doesn't.

Great. Let's all get some high-end PCs and 4K monitors then.

I think what many don't really see is that these are mostly rushed ports from the last gen. Launch games in general are not a good base to draw upon. And we all know that the Xbox 1 software is less then optimal at this time.

Pc has nothing to do with it, many games don't come to PC and many simply don;t want to game on PC..... For those that do then yes PC is the way to go. But can't play console exclsuives on PC.

PS4 games are as rushed and will improve as well. The gap is not going to go away, the GPU's are not changing.

4K gaming on $2500 PC's! Everything else is trash! AMIRITE?

How can it improve? Aside from all games being standard 1080p, there really isn't any better you can do this gen.

No one is saying that....... PC dont play games in 4k resolution.
