Xbox One users discovered last week that swearing on Xbox Live uploads could get them suspended from their accounts.

And it seems that Xbox have taken their disapproval of swearing to a new level by punishing gamers even in private games.

YouTube user RandomFrankP uploaded a video of him playing the basketball game NBA 2k14.

After the Xbox Kinect hears him swearing, the game informs him that his in-game player has been issued a penalty because of his language.

He screams: "What?! That's ridiculous!

"I can't curse in my own house?"

He continues: "I spend $530 for an Xbox One and you're going to penalise me?"

The video has quickly gone viral, being watched over 260,000 times in just a few days.

Some viewers have pointed out that you can turn the option off in the game's settings.

But not everyone disliked the feature. One said: "You can't cuss on the court, it adds realism. I love that feature."

So you should read the 3rd article you posted as it has to do with uploads again not private matches and second it's the game that is punishing you not the console/kinect.


I just posted the article as is. I like the feature honestly, think it's funny and different.

I'm not talking about that feature, which actually isn't entirely realistic for the NBA.

This actually happened with the Kinect on the 360 also. My shit team missed 2 point blank layups and I yelled what the fuck loud as hell and received a technical. That was so funny to me because I had no idea that could even happen lol

that is pretty cool. people who like this have this as addition and people who don't like it can just turn it off? no clue where the problem is.

i would love to have that in a fifa game. since like every game has at least one card because of some player swearing to the ref or acting like a fool, it would be fun if you would also get a yellow card if you would say some bad stuff to the ref in the game.
