1. Large-scale for-profit asteroid mining

2. Anti-ageing technology/vast extension of human lifespan

3. The end of fossil-fuel dependance

4. 3D-printers a common household appliance much like today's TVs, desktop computers or microwaves

5. Technological singularity

In hopes that these advancements among others (so many more I could list!) lead to a post-scarcity society (eradication of poverty, material wealth etc.) in my lifetime. That may be an idealistic view, but I think it's possible.

That would be cool.

My 100 birthday.

#1 money does not exist anymore

Thats it it will SOLVE EVERYTHING.
No more "lets keep this technology under wraps because we could still make money with the old crap" (would result in better batteries/no more fossil fuel)
No more "lets make toxic plastic PET bottles instead of non-toxic bottles because its cheaper."
No more "lets rob and maybe kill them so we can sell their stuff for money"
etc. etc

Humanity should understand that NOT material goods have value but wisdom has.  Without people finding out how to process metal, metal would have not that much value. If people would never have found out that oil could be used for something    gas/petrol/oil would have no value. If our ancestors never would have found out that you can keep animals so they procreate  we would have eaten all animals on our planet along time ago. Same applies to vegetables etc.

Wisdom is what should be humanities priority number 1 nothing else and especially not money. Maybe they can make stuff out of thin air if they just invest enough time to find out.

I don't understand the hype around 3d printers an why everyone should have one? Why does this not appeal to me like it should.

1. Shenmue III

2. Final Fantasy VII remake with stronger Weapons, a hard mode, new game + and fixing of stats faults.

3. Street Fighter V

4. A pill or drink that makes you sober fast

5. Saving of the now endangered animals

I like that idea as well, but you would also have to get right of property rights and ownership. Basically go to a Marxist version of cummunism. It has been tried and failed. Humanity isn't ready for it, at least not the people in power who have all the money :/ (by which I mean the entire first world)

Eventually 3D printers will be able to print organic materials (by which I'm mainly referring to food), and they'll be as affordable as any other common home appliance. Think of the implications of that, and that's just one example of their potential. Here's a good vid on it: http://video.pbs.org/video/2339671486/
