Android.
I used to play around alot with my girlfriends iPhone 4 but I didn't like it enough to get myself one.
Now we both have Android phones.

I like iOS and Android both, each has its pros and cons. Windows Phone seems to be another solid mobile OS, but I can't get warm to the tile look yet.
for now: Android smartphone and iOS tablet
Windows Phone. It was the best handset I could buy at the time for the price, so I got it. While I love the OS itself and don't mind the lack of apps, the lack of support from Microsoft itself (I have a WP7 device) will probably make me never buy another Windows Phone again.
Android and didn't have a choice... iPhones are pretty expensive in here.
Main: HTC One (Android)
Tag-along: Nokia 620 (WP)
HTC One, it does anything I want it to do. Save anything I want. Hardware image stabilization in camera ala Nokia, but not as good. IR blaster, too lazy to find remotes or even change channels at peoples houses or public places . Sexy as hell. The hardware is powerful enough to run android smoothly.
Nokia 620. So simple and snappy. Easy to get to content I want and back to doing other things in life. Instead of navigating and opening up apps to see certain things. Camera button makes it easy to perv shot. I could have had a 920 or 1020 with better cameras, but they are too big. M$ runs so good on low end hardware.
Considering how M$ can make software that can run better with less specs, I'm not worried with their lower spec Xbox One compared to PS4. I have no doubt that if you put Android and WP OS on the same hardware. The WP OS will run laps around the Android.
Android, 4.2 on a Galaxy S4
Chosen because I hate touchscreen keyboards, but the Samsung swype text allows me to use the keyboard somewhat efficiently.

Same for me (except I didn't try a gf one, but friends ones). Although I like it, I wouldn't spend more than 150 euros for a phone, and my current Android one actually cost less than 90.
OTOH, when I had the opportunity to try a friend's iPad I was quite curious and interested, but the positive feelings ended very soon: the damn thing missed the input from my fingers far too often, sometimes I had to tap it really hard to click something or type a character (while it worked almost flawlessly in the hands of my friend and his wife)... Although It was already quite likely I wouldn't pay Apple prices for a tablet, after trying it that became a certainty.
