Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Mario 3D World = best game I've played since Xenoblade in 2011

Wow love the comparison to galaxy as that's how I felt when playing galaxy (in terms of newness)!

That was my main worry with this game. It won't hold the spectacle and magic of galaxy.

Then again does it need to? If it's a extremely well built platformer (which it seems like it is from reactions) spectacle shouldn't matter as much.

How's the soundtrack?

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Meh, I've only played the E3 demo and I already like the game more than Galaxy.

Glad you like it, how different is it from other mario games?

one of the reasons why this is so playable is that it has standard controls

I hope they bring a galaxy 1+2 bundle using Wiiu controls that would be a great addition

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Xenoblade is one of the best games ever (I have such incredibly high hopes for its successor on the Wii U).

Mario World is "only" a very good game and will remain as one of the best games of the Wii U/PS4/Xbox One generation.

So far it doesn't have as many stand-out tracks as the Galaxy games, but it's all very pleasant to listen to all the same.

I never playd 3D Land, but it has its own distinct  feel compared to previous console 3D Marios.

Great!

I don't have a Wii U or any next gen console, but the game looks super fun.

How different is it from Mario 3D Land?

I disagree, I feel that the Wiimote +Nunchuk controls for the Galaxy games are superior to what a standard controller can offer.

Flicking the remote to smash enemies or propel Mario into the air felt fantastic, pointer and tilt controls added fun and variety, and being able to have my hands far apart was more comfortable than always having them scrunched together.

Sorry man, I can't really answer that, I never played 3D Land.
