Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What game would make you buy a Wii U?

- How do you know if they're good or not before the first gameplay videos are out?

- Why is it important to "support" a multibilliondollar corporation by letting your expensive console collect dust waiting for the games you want, and possibly recieve price cuts in the meantime? Are you really saying that without my support, specifically me, Wii U will be cancelled before the time I buy it?

Zelda and/or Monolith Soft's game is all it'll take for me.

Got mine for Pikmin 3. Have 4 games currently. Getting Mario 3D World and Sonic in January, DK in February, and Child of Light, X, Bayonetta 2, Smash Bros., Mario Kart 8, Yoshi Yarn, and many more whenever they come out. Hopefully some more release dates are announced for these games soon.

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

have you ever know any Nintendo main IP not to be good?

If you are only waiting for one game then the console is practically collecting dust anyway after you finished it so what is the difference? So wouldn't you in theory be waiting for more than 1 game to justify a purchase  since you consider it expensive?  If a console was selling well then there would not be any need for price cuts. If you are a Nintendo console gamer only then there is plenty of software out now to justify a purchase knowing the fact 2014 will be loaded with games.

No I am saying if everyone thought like  you then the console would have sold way less than it already has and it may be the thing that causes a console to be discountinued meaning the game you were waiting for will not be released as there is no platform anymore.

I actually just got a Wii U this week. I only own New Super Mario Bros U/New Super Luigi U combo disc that came with the system. I'm asking for Super Mario 3D World and Wind Waker HD for Christmas. I also order the Wii U version of Rayman Legends, which I've heard nothing but good things about and I loved Rayman Origins.

Well I bought one because they were practically throwing them away at my local store. But if it was for a game: Metroid. Either Prime 4 or a true 2D Super Metroid sequel.

I am the wrong person to ask that. To me, Metroid stopped being good after Prime 2, 3D Mario after Galaxy 1, Pokemon after D/P, and Zelda after NES.

The difference is the price cut amount and the opportunity cost of having the money right now, including interest.

So wouldn't you in theory be waiting for more than 1 game to justify a purchase  since you consider it expensive?

No. There are two must-buy games for me even if it was $1000. Metroid Prime 4 that takes after Prime 1/2, and a Paper Mario that takes after TTYD.

If a console was selling well then there would not be any need for price cuts.

If you are a Nintendo console gamer only then there is plenty of software out now to justify a purchase knowing the fact 2014 will be loaded with games.

Unless you believe that Nintendo stopped being worthy of automatic trust.

That's an argument for people in general to purchase it. But you're using it as an argument for individuals to stop waiting and pick up Wii U. Well, the individual won't make the difference. So it's not relevant advice about a purchase,

Metal Gear Solid series exclusively on Wii U. Would angrily make me buy the console.

I would pay maybe 80€ max for Wii U, it's technically too weak to be worth more to me. They don't have any games I really want either and since multiplats are better on the newer consoles/PC anyways.

I never understand the point of these threads let alone peoples replies.

I'll get it when zelda comes out or smash or mario kart.

Like they are coming out so buy the console. Be like Sony and Microsoft fans, they support their console knowing great games are coming.

Imagine if ever Nintendo fan though like the responses here then the Wii probably would have sold 500K units by now. Those kind of sales would probably lead to a discontinued console and no zelda, smash or mario kart.

TO be fair and you are not going to like this, so prepare to flame. BUt Sony and MS fans support their consoles because their consoles have been and is getting supported. You CANNOT say the same for all of Ninty consoles. I mean support across the board 1st AND 3rd party. Hell even when PS3 was getting whupped it was still getting games, sure they werent exclusives and were shared with 360 but thats a hell of alot more than what Wii U is getting, its not even getting some of the multiplats from PS360 and those have been around for years, NVM the next gen ports. Outside of Watchdogs, I dont know what its getting next gen wise.

OT. Buying a whole console for one game has always been foolish to me. I need about 3 games to even consider a purchase and honestly right now the only thing on WIi U that im interested in is Zelda and it better look close to that tech demo. Matter of fact ill just wait for that.
