I don't get what your saying. Aren't all T.V.'s HD ready. Don't you have to get HD,through your cable provider? It's not like HD just comes out of the box. lol I have a simple 32 inch flat screen, but I don't have HD. resoulution doesn't really matter 2 me. I just care about the game being fun. I don't think I'll ever bother getting HD. I"m just 2 lazy and cheap.

"HD ready" is the label for TVs with a native resolution below 1920x1080. The discussion between me and Incubi is about that he said "90% of those who bought an HDTV("HDTV" is a label for TVs with a native resolution above 1280x720) bought HD ready" (i.e. a set that can't do 1920x1080 natively).
So, he says a game resolution of 1080p isn't worthwhile to the majority, because their TVs can't show it.
That can't be accurate from my point of view, as I am certain that atleast for the last 3 years (probably more) by far the majority of HDTVs shipped had the "Full HD" native res, which is said 1920x1080, so I am certain a lot of people can distinguish the difference on their set, especially those tech-afine console early adopters.
Ofcourse games are about fun, and fun is about immersion and good graphics can improve immersion. For example I really liked Red Dead Redemption, but due to the limitations of my PS3 the picture got really blurry in a short distance making it harder to spot and target enemies, or to explore without using the map (I'm not fond of maps) or to simply enjoy the scenery. I think I would've enjoyed it even more on a system with much higher capabilities.
