Driver 2. People rightfully shit on it for the terrible, terrible frame rate issues, but I loved the game.

Destruction Derby Raw. Still one of my all time favorite racers, and I play it on my PSP all the time. A PSone game that has aged incredibly well. I would love to see a new one with online play.

Zombie Revenge. A Dreamcast game. It wasn't amazing or anything, but I thought it was good fun.

Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX. This has a low 70's metascore, like 72 IIRC. Idk if that qualifies as "panned", but I think the game was everything Tony Hawk was trying to do and more. It was way deeper and had much better courses imho.

4X4 Evolution. Another low 70's rated Dreamcast gem. The online play was amazing, and this was the most in depth upgrade and management system I think we'd ever seen on consoles up to that point.

Red Dead Revolver. A great little western game. Not nearly as good as the sequel of course.

Other games that I can't imagine were well received but I loved:

NHL Championship 2000
Twisted Metal 3 & 4

Agree with Red Dead Revolver. Underrated game.

@OP, when you say panned, are you talking sub-60 scores? I don't think I like anything that low, but The Simpsons: Road Rage is a 67 and I enjoyed that.

Cladun, Legasista, Mugen Souls.

Digimon games too, i love these games, and never get why they get so much criticism.

I up the ante: what was the worst rated game you played to the finish?

Can anyone top "Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust"? I lost a bet. ;)

Since you said "worst rated" and IGN gave it a 2, Deadly Premonition. Of course, Destructoid and others gave the game a 10 so...

Real steel online, freaking good game. Really.

Dynasty Warriors for me too. I pretty much have liked every single game that I have played (yes, even Superman 64!), but I guess the thread title says love, not just like.

Oh yeah, I like Yu-gi-oh games...
Wish they made one for Vita, or 3DS :(

I played one of those on the PS1! It was pretty great, regret selling it now D:

Yu-Gi-Oh: Forbidden Memories? I loved that game! I actually gave it a 10/10.
