Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4/Vita remote play. Constant disconnects. What's up?

I love playing through remote play but for some reason the Vita constantly disconnects from the PS4 and this is within my own home!

I have the Wifi power settings on the Vita set to off. I have UPnP set to "On" on my router and "QoS" set to "off". I have even done port forwarding for when I am away from home (Have yet to try this yet, although previous attempts at using RP at work have been unsuccessful) and the Vita is connecting on an open channel that my other devices do not use.

Vita is set to channel 6. Does the PS4 need to be on the same channel by any chance?

Anyone have any idea what could be the issue for me? I doubt it is my connection speeds.

Strange. It works flawlessly for me over my wifi router. Hope you find the problem.

"These are the highest quality pixels that anybody has seen"

Works great for me, Maybe router issue? Did you try recycling your router?

Im having the same issues also Idk what to do :/

"Wifi power settings on the Vita set to off"

Should that be off? I'm unsure what that feature/setting is but it reads as if it turns wifi off on Vita.

It's a power saving setting. With it on the Wifi will turn itself off sometimes to conserve power.

Ah, well it just sounds like either your PS4 or PSV is having conflicting issues with retaining wifi connection.

I think it is my router or my ISP personally, but I was hoping someone else ran into this issue and it was actually something else.

Get yourself on your computer and do a ping to both machines/ips! This way you should find out whether ps4 or vita is the problem.
Just do
"ping -t $vita-ip" and another terminal with "ping -t $ps4-ip"

Never had a issue yet, I use my Vita as a extra control to play Trine 2 with my friend and not once has it disconnected. I've had mine since NA midnight launch too. Could likely be your personal connection not connecting at a fast enough rate maybe. Mine goes as low as 16MBPS and high of 50MBPS. Make your PS4 check your speed, anything under 10 may likely give issues. Also I remember Yoshida saying Remote play performs best if your PS4 is Wired online. Mine PS4 is connected to the internet through wire since the Fiber modem is only like 2 feet from it. But I'd also tell you if your PS4 is on Wi-Fi, it maybe the issue, cause your Wi-Fi has to Download and upload from 2 devices at once. Which would technically leave only about half the actual speed in use as well the fact internet never actually Downloads or uploads the speed it says lol
