Forums - Sales Discussion - HARDWARE/US SOFTWARE UP! XBONE USA CHART

That is true. But sometimes I wonder if what is posted here influences a lot of other gamers. Which is sad really. There is some really good third party stuff on the Wii U. :( It uposets me sometimes. But it is something you have to live with. :I

It probably does affect many. If you spend a lot of time here. I have seen people blatently say they hate a company just due to internet fans which is kind of weird to me.

Don't have time to do a full readthrough now but - CoD: Ghosts PS4 adjusted wayyy down in USA? Seems so.

Iffy second week for PS4, but I assume stock issues.

Good opening for Xbone in the USA and UK, can't fault it that. European numbers seem a tad low though.

Very decent opening for Mario in the USA, all things considered.

Poor Tearaway, though. And Need for Speed seems to be bombing on every platform.

Ps4 software nearly doubling x1 wow.

errr. 2 weeks v 1 week... lol

Still, you have to admit the PS4 has pulled off something pretty damn impressive. Having a bigger first week in both software and hardware in the country your competition general dominates in is nothing to scoff at. Though i'm sure you will conjure up some kind of excuse ^^

OT: A great first week for the X1 overall, though Ryse's numbers are somewhat disappointing (still better than Knack though :P). Cliff drop of a fall for the PS4's second week, but i imagine that can be mostly credited to it being the X1's launch week and a lack of supply.

I dont do excuses I do reasons.

On Ryse... are you insane. Those are good numbers.

I don't know how big next gen game budgets are, but concerning ryze has been in development over the past  4 or possible more years with constant changes as well its overall presentation i doubt it's going to make a profit.

Seeing as people generally believe their excuses were warranted by reason that's a rather empty statement :P

I didn't say it had bad sales, just disappointing. Seeing as Knack managed to pull of 102k i was expecting to see Ryse hit around 180k, hence i find the 143k disappointing.

whats the fasination with BF and newly launched consoles? it doesn't make sense

Not trying to rain on the Nintendo fans here, but for those bragging about "Wii U >> Ps4", you do realize it's a supply issue, right?

im pretty sure people are just joking!!! Its not like anybody (well maybe  1 or 2 people) thinks WiiU will do better than ps4 now

it's 3D World week, Wii U numbers are disappointing

I agree it's not spectacular, but I'd say it's respectable even it took SM3DW to do it and given how WiiU has struggled, 111k is a welcome boost  - I guess nintendo will take whatever they can get and when was the last time WiiU hit 6 figures? Wind Waker week?

Wii U biggest game of 2013 and the console didn't even sold more than the PS3 or the 360, it's a boost yeah but that doesn't mean it's anywhere near good

It wasn't a full week, 2 days in US and 3 in Japan. Wii U will do better than 360 next week with the Europe launch of 3D World and a full week of Japan and US sales for 3D World.

I thought 360 had officially outsold Wii in the USA, but on this week's chart it's still about 65K behind. Or is it North America that it's officially outsold and USA is a couple of weeks away?

Anyway 8-o at PS4 drop. Unless they kept large amounts back for Black Friday I'm picking PS4 won't sell a lot (relatively speaking) on BF simply because there's no stock. 100K PS4 Black Friday I'm picking.

Xb one could do better if MS has been able to meet all demand and have surplus stock.

Not entirely sure what to make of Wii U. One expects rising sales week on week at this time of year, but if SM3DW is meant to be one the game that makes Wii U competitive with PS4 and Xb one I don't think a 61% lift and 243K in game sales is going to do it. But it must be encouraging that Wii U is selling at a decent rate and should have reasonable holiday sales.

PS4 massive drop expected. Will rise a bit but nothing too noticeable.

3DS doing great as usual as it should be. Wii U hit six figures!

Don't care about Microsoft. :)

It will rise huge when the stock is available. I don't think you get how this works.

Sony produces only about 1 million PS4 units per month. The console launches are two weeks apart, meaning they've only produced about 500K PS4 units in that timeframe. They have to send some units to the USA, but support their main launch first which is in EU this week (just like NA was 2 weeks ago). So Sony releases about 100K units to ship to North America, and has about 400K units left from their 2 week manufacturing period. It was suggested that EU gets 1.2-1.5 million units week one (if none are diverted to NA), which is on par with the NA first week support (1.1 million). So EU to complete their quota of 1.2+ million units still needs 800K-1.1million units that it hasn't produced, and this comes from the backlog from pre-NA launch manufactured PS4 units. And this week which isn't shown for the EU region, Sony has to ship some units to the NA region again. Expect only 100K units yet again, as their focus has to be a strong EU launch.

Taking the 100K hit next week into consideration, EU region will get/sell 1.1-1.4 million units. These periods are known as hard-launches, as about 90% of a product goes to a major region for the initial product launch. This varies by strength of region and EU is Sony's strongest region. After the hand launch you will see the units per-week increase, but you're right it will not be by much. Half will flood into the NA, and half into EU. 1m per month (divided) by two main regions is 500K units. 500K units split to 4 weeks and you get potential of only 125,000 units plus the backlog pre-launch unit stock still kept strategically. What it means is we're looking at 300,000 units shipped to NA every 2 week period.

i dont think that XBOX shipped around 1.5 million for the first week. especially after the reports of production issues. so i think VGC has over estimated first week sales.. until or unless they have some reliable sources..
