when Nintendo missed out on a whole generation, of third party games, online games and your games look a generation behind 360/ps3 games,  it's not gonna be easy to convince 360/ps3 owners to go buy a wiiu. when to them the wii was no existent,not even wii owners are buying the wiiu.

skyrim, gears of war, COD, RDR, uncharted and assain creed all pushed hardware lastgen and they were new ips.

Well if they really wanted to appeal to Sony/MS fans then they would have to create some dark, mature games. As much as Nintendo fans would hate it, an M rated Zelda would be a good start. Nintendo is still seen as the "kiddie" company.

Capture Sony or M$ fans? If we talking about Sony and M$ we talk about 3rd party, thats almost imposible, first they need to got their own fans. Release all Nintendo IP like Metroid HD, Zelda HD, Fire Emblem HD, etc2. Right now Nintendo just milking Mario, and i already got bored with that.

I could see that working, but I'm not sure people would pick an M rated Zelda, as good as it could be, over the likes of Dark Souls, Grand Theft Auto, etc.

Nintendo should keep two studios to their mario games.
Make a serious Zelda game.
Have more powerful hardware
Better online infrastructure
Release Games aimed at the more mature demographic.

This would do well in m opinion. You would have familly friendly mario and core games all in one place.

Makes me laugh though when people think core gamers dont like mario. They love him. They just dont want to purchase a console to just play one franchise. Especially one thats particularly shallow.

yeah none of that helps them either. Thats the sacrifice they had to make

I think Nintendo needs to create a "big brother" to their handhelds, while remaining different from the other big two competitors, something like:

Nintendo Mobi7 (shape would be of a flipped "L" to avoid lawsuit, but also hints at representing their 7th console) gaming at home or on the go.

7 in, 1080p console in netbook form. Performance in between XB1 & PS4. release date 2016-17
