Why would they discontinue it when they just started to advertise it???
I've seen more commercials for the Wii U than I've seen for PS4 since the PS4 actually launched...
I haven't seen any Spanish language ads though (I live in New York)...
They might want to consider making some...

Is Spanish such a big deal in USA?

somewhat, there is a lot of illegal invaders in the US that have anchor babies.

I think they should. How many systems have been sold? 3 million? That's pretty much nothing. Discontinue the system, and then let current owners have the next system for free via Nintendo themselves.

Are you serious? Probably just joking as it is hard to judge sarcasm online. No one can seriously suggest that a company give away $1.5-$2.0 billion worth of product away for free. Even ignoring the R&D costs, porting and moving current projects to this supposed "PS4U" and damage to brand value. On top of that alienating the bigger market that prefers lower priced console.

If you are serious. You should pray for more than just mojo.

They should just copy Sony as far as features, hardware and controller. Basically, a PS4 that could play Nintendo games. Could you IMAGINE having all of that awesome third party support, standard controls AND Zelda? Omg, too good to be true.

Of course, it'll never happen. But one can dream.

actually by september 30 was reported 3.91 million wii u consoles sold, so its clear that by now should have reaached something like 4.2 million or more

Two years from now you'd wish you never created this thread.

That is Nintendo's big weakness that largely goes unspoken. Sony and Microsoft being much larger companies (as a whole) with much broader consumer bases are going to clean up in the developing world, where Nintendo just doesn't have the time and energy to really build outward into burgeoning places like South America, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. Hell, they're having enough problems with South Korea so far.

I'm not buying it. Nintendo has nothing, because it doesn't care. I know how Games Workshop was starting bringing Warhammer FB and Warhammer 40k miniature games to Poland, as I know people who were doing it very well. At first for a few years it was just one guy, who was driving through the whole country, talking to people at hobby centres, individual retailers, helping them get GW products, suppling them, he was organising and leading presentations during launches of new armies, etc. After a few years another dude joined him and they were working just in two. Soon after that the profits were so big that we got an official GW Hobby Centre and were hosting the offical Eastern European Grand Tournament. All just the work of one guy. Can't Nintendo afford a guy like that? They don't need an all-out offensive in the media, just a bunch of people doing such dirty work and some time. But you have to care...

Heck, they still haven't even got a web page :/

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

You know who else did this? Sega. The 32x and Sega CD were supposed to be the next big thing, but then they just hoped everyone would forget about it and move on to the Saturn. Once Sonic Extreme wasn't going to hit the deadline they told everyone to forget about the Saturn and move on to the Dreamcast, how THAT was their true next-gen console. Clearly that didn't work out for them.

I just find it funny how people say that Nintendo is 'going to turn out like Sega' and 'The Wii U is Nintendo's Dreamcast' when in reality their situations aren't the same at all, and then people suggest they do stupid stuff like this that really will turn them into Sega.

If Nintendo released a PS4 like system, with Nintendo games on it, it would be the next PS2 HANDS DOWN. If you know you can put 170 million units in homes, you don't worry about the 3 million replacment units. Hell, MS probably sent more than that out due to RROD.

It's not as crazy as you think. And as far as ailenating the "bigger" market? What market? The market that ISN'T buying the Wii-U?

@prayformojo My last stance on your hypothetical business prospects = Bullshit. Good thing they don't hire CEO's from forums.

many have predicted nintendo leaving the hardware market since n64 and itd still doing so

Wii U will discontinue when the generation is finished. They discontinued the Wii because the generation is over.
Stupid threads... Stop hatin' on Nintendo and just enjoy games.
