When questioned in the thread about why he said Ryse was the best looking he ignored it for 3pages until someone else reposted the exchange. He then backtracks his statement with

"Honestly, I think both games stand at the top. Killzone is the most impressive PS4 game while Ryse is the most impressive Xbox One game and they each have their own positives and negatives."

"Honestly, I could put either game at the top of the list.

I prefer the aesthetic of Killzone in many ways but the unlocked framerate is a bad decision. "

From the word go his article was hounded by Sony fans on a notorious Sony forum.

Whats interesting is 90% of the people on the thread who say they have played both say Ryse clearly has it.

The debate to question the author continues, as he is now backtracking quickly on his Killzone comment, which seemed to be there to ease the pressure from the Sony fans.

Isn't that a different person?

Same guy. He later reveals he prefers its artstyle. Whereas the DF article is obviously a technical analysis.

Why does he have a different name?

Yep. And after he posted that he got called out on why he said different in the article. He then changes his tune and says both are equal. Screams of pleasing the Sonygaf crowd. As the article was hammered by Sony fans from the off.

What I posted is what he says after being confronted. He tried to ignore but another posted reposted the question.

Whats funny is the majority of dual owners are categorically siding with Ryse. Surprising for Gaf actually.

Clearly you do understand that he prefers Killzone though? He's said that twice already.

In no way does the poster "backtrack" anything. He simply states that both Ryse and Shadow Fall look the best on respective platform and both are doing stuff that he could see be "on the top" but he still says he prefers Killzone.

And thats that ^^

(And anyone with any knowledge on specs will tell you that the PS4 has an advantage over X1 in terms of it. Make of that, what you will. Hell just factor in the vast differences in game design for KZ and Ryse. Ryse SHOULD be better looking due to what it is doing. That doesn't necessarily seem to be the case (shockingly), however.)

Yeah he does. But thats Artistically. Arent the actual articles based only on technical analysis? And not faveourtie artstyle?

"Honestly, I think both games stand at the top. Killzone is the most impressive PS4 game while Ryse is the most impressive Xbox One game and they each have their own positives and negatives."

^He's clearly talking about technical aspect here. They are tied.

So what happens next?

Aestheticscome into play and it is generally how everything works together to form an imagine that one finds beautiful. He feels Killzone has the nod therefore, TO HIM PERSONALLY, he finds Killzone better looking.

So we're looking at a technical draw here but visually, killzone does more for him due to the aesthetics. Rather shocking considering Ryse is linear and Killzone is at a higher resolution and framerate. It shouldn't be a draw as you probably know but somehow GG managed to match Crytek. And by preference of aesthetics, even get the nod in the it in the eyes of the DF guy.

I just bought Killzone Shadowfall and I'm really not all that impressed. Don't get me wrong, it does look a whole lot better than current gen games, but I only really noticed when jumping directly between Halo 4 and Killzone Shadowfall by switching the inputs back and forth (yes, I was that curious to see the difference). I guess it's also because lately I've also been playing some PC games such as Bioshock Infinite and BF3 ( yes I am pretty behind), but yeah I really wasn't all that impressed with the game.

Ryse, on the other hand, just pops out as looking next gen. IMO, it looks better than any game out there including the PC games. However, admittedly I've yet to see the game in person and I'm just judging the games graphics from the youtube videos I've seen.

If you think otherwise, watch the video below and if it doesn't change your mind you're probably in denial.

I totally respect your opinion, but to say Ryse looks better than any other game out there including PC games is ABSURD....but feeling it looks better than KZ:SF is fine. But compared to like Metro or Crysis 3 on PC for example...both DWARF Ryse or KZ:SF....

You couldn't see a difference between Killzone and current gen without swapping inputs? Yet can tell by looking at compressed youtube videos Ryse is better then anything, including pc?

Oh, ok...

I could definitely see the difference with Killzone but it wasn't until I swapped inputs that I realized how big of a jump it really was. And it honestly is a really big difference..well at least compared to Halo 4. With Ryse, however, just from the youtube videos you can see the insanely realistic lighting and smooth/detailed animations. Sure the atmospherics are not as pronounced as Killzone, but that's because it's using a realistic art style while Killzone is not.

Neither game is really using a "realistic" art style to be honest. And actually not shooting you down at all but the lighting in KZ:SF is actually better than is Ryse and character models and animations are a different story. And not all teh characters get the same "treatment" if you know what I mean.

After playing both and seeing both I must say taht they are EASILY the best looking games out on consoles right now period! Both look amazing at the end of the day as far as this "graphics" argument goes it just boils down to personal taste. For me character models and animations RYSE hands down and even some textures...but KZ:SF pretty much looks better with everything else...just my opinion of course though.

Yes, I dare say it does look better than those games. The comparision with Crysis 3, however, is admittedly a stretch and my stance probably has to do with my preference in terms of graphics. I much prefer Ryse's realistic design. Crysis 3 definitely looks impressive with the amount of detail on screen, but there are many texture that just don't look realistic  and somewhat ugly which ruins the whole presentation.

ryse just looks vibrant thats all and looks boring imo and doesnt maintain 30fps and isnt 1080p

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...
