Forums - Gaming Discussion - Now can we all say "Thank You Microsoft", "Thanks for the Competition"

Thanks! Now, just two more days until I finally get my PS4! :)

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

Well doesn't this come off as a tad smug....since you should be also "thanking" Nintendo.

Because without them, we wouldn't have the awesome PS Move!

Better yet, without Nintendo, you wouldn't have PS

wrong, that is actually precisely the reason why we have PlayStation. lol

ty MS for breaking $ony's arrogant pride.

This.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

thx Ms for the 180 on the 720

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

" Sony put back their competitive hat back and delivered the $300 PS3 slim and they have been domination the sales since then."

Huh?

At best maybe they've had a very slight edge on 360 in sales lately. Overall 360 has outsold PS3 worldwide.

I really always go for the underdog from the beginning, you know, the "new" kid on the block. Sega had that position in the late 80´s, trying to break into Nintendo´s domination at the time. Same with MS and the original Xbox where they tried to make a dent in Sony´s enormous succes. I belive it is thanks to these newcomers that the established companies really need to up their game.

So I have no problem with Sony fans thanking MS for them having a better product than what they otherwise would have :).

It seems you didn't cheered Sony when they entered the fray, whys is that??

I could survive in a world of Nintendo monopoly, have lived in a world of Sony monopoly and been happy... anything MS have monopoly I always have the sensation I'm being screwed (just like with OS).

C'mon. I thank Sony. Microsoft have come out the gate with alot of disc based exclusives. Their lineup is stellar already. 2014 is gonna be epic. I wish though Sony did more for media. It would push Microsoft harder this gen. But not including the eye and no hdmi in could make Microsoft rest on its laurels. I hope not though. The Xbox one has so much more potential outside of gaming.

Agreed, since xbox 360 success, sony have been investing more in new and existing ip than before. Add to that all the good decision they made for the ps4. I will be a happy gamer when I finally get my hands on it, it's not easy to find one in my country.
