Now can we all say "Thank You Microsoft", "Thanks for the Competition"

Forums - Gaming Discussion - Now can we all say "Thank You Microsoft", "Thanks for the Competition"

People were sayign gaming console was dying. But we just witness the two biggest launch of console in history.

Now let us go back in the past. We had a PS3 release at $600, $500 and I know a lot of people (including me) could afford to spend that much money in a video game. And because Xbox360 was destroying PS3 in sales, Sony put back their competitive hat back and delivered the $300 PS3 slim and they have been domination the sales since then.

Now because of the good success of the Xbox360, Sony knows they can't just give people another PS3 and we got the $400 PS4. I bought mine last Sunday and I am enjoying it very much. One of the reason we have such a wonderful PS4 is because of the competition that Sony  received from MS last gen. Now that we know that Halo5 is supposed to be release next year, I can rest assured that Uncharted will be a very well done product to compete against it. There is even a rumor that GT7 could be released in 2014.

So competition is good , and us as consumer we get to have unbelievable gaming experience because both MS and Sony are pushing hard for our money. Since I bought the PS4,  I can say  "Thank You Microsoft", "Thanks for the Competition".

Also after seeing games like "The Last of Us" and "Uncharted" from Sony, Xbox fan should also look foward for some great exclusives on their side. MS has the money to make this happen (FF XV and Kingdom Heart 3 are no longer exclusives to Sony, I have no idea how MS pulled that off )

I have said after some thought that Microsoft is perfect. They provide next to reason for me to shell out money on their system while keeping Sony honest in terms of price and features and game support. This coming generation could be the cheapest and best I have ever experienced. So thank you Microsoft for making Sony better for PlayStation owners.

Well doesn't this come off as a tad smug....since you should be also "thanking" Nintendo.

Because without them, we wouldn't have the awesome PS Move!

I would rather have some other competitor. Microsoft out, Valve and Steam Machines big time and directly in the console market. Man can dream...

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Thank you MS for making me want a PS4 even moreand cheaper without desiring your console.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

That's true. Sony was messing around with the tech way before the Wii, but without the wiimotes success Sony never would have launched a product of their own.

I love move.

Smugness in the face of overwhelming smugness you could say.

I don't want Microsoft out, I don't want PS5 to be another $600 with a lot problem at launch. Their competition is good for us gamers.

How bout no, we don't need consoles getting any more expensive because of Valve.
