I am hoping someone a little more informed than me might be able to help me with this question.

I got the Zelda 3DS XL a few days ago, installed the downloadable game (and also got a code for Zelda: Oracle of Seasons which I downloaded as well) I've been plaing them some and having a blast, now I want to transfer the stuff from my original 3DS to my new 3DS XL. I initiated the transfer (I did this once before from my DSi to my 3DS so I know the basic steps to how to do it) however as I was reading it, it made it sound as if all the information, software, etc. on the target device (my new 3DS XL) would be wiped out and non-recoverable, which confused me - are they saying that I will loose Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Oracle of Seasons that I have on there, and then not be allowed to redownload them.

Basically my question is, did I miss my chance to transfer the stuff from my original 3DS over to my 3DS XL without wiping out my right to ALBTW and OOS?

It's confusing me because I have an ambassador 3DS that I had already downloaded a few games on (even purchased a few extra VC games) before I did the transfer from my DSi to the 3DS, and it didn't wipe out my rights to those games, but maybe DSi->3DS is different than 3DS->3DS transfers.

Any pertinant information anyone has on this would be appreciated. I'd love to transfer my downloadable games to my 3DS XL because now that I have it with the bigger screens I'm probably not going to want to play the older 3DS anymore (might sell it even) but not if its going to wipe out my Zelda games, or at least my rights to them. the sending system's memory will be sent to the target system. the target system's games will all remain.

Pretty sure it will not overwrite your XL info. Just adds the other data to it.

thanks, that makes me feel a little better. I'll try it when I get home - I have ALBTW physically as well if I do loose it but I'd rather leave that sealed for my collection.
