Forums - Nintendo Discussion - A Zelda idea: How about an older/middle aged link?

Ive thought about this before, and I always thought nintendo should give it a shot. They've done a child link, a teen link(or 18 years old), why not mature and middle aged link? He could have a beard and mustache, or just appear to be a lot older. The stories for it could be endless, it would be a nice twist to the series. What do you guys think?

Here's the only picture I could find that simliar to my idea, but its way too old, but you kinda get the idea of what im saying

Not to be ageist, but ewww no.

older/middle aged, that's okay. However, it shouldn't look like how it does in that picture. It doesn't fit.

I like this model.

Hey, how about this. You can have a game about an old Link, it would be very cool. But what if there was a game (maybe the same game!) where Link appoints a new legendary hero to do something very important. That's how easily they can have an epic spinoff franchise.

that is too old. 30 - 40 would be ok in my book and maybe even have a daughter and wifu to save this time instead of a sister ?

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

No. That undermines a huge part of what I like about Zelda.

I play Zelda PARTLY because it's the story of a young boy overcoming massive odds. I always thought that was awesome when I was really young, and now it brings me back to my younger self. Maybe when I'm 30 a middle aged link will appeal to me, but not now.

I want to see a true adult Link too, I mean the oldest he's ever been (or has looked to me) is 18. But what if he was in his 20s or 30s. Or maybe have a game where it explores his life a bit and he goes from a young adult to a middle man. I would like to see what they could do with him then.
