Krill is a troll but he's somewhat right. This game sports a very clean, simple and elegant look. The game doesn't seem to have much complex geometry and detail, but it looks very sharp and shiny. It's obviously an artistic choice to go for the stylistic look. And it works.

Game is full of detail..as well as geometry. Thats apparent just from the screens. Didn't take long for the downplayers.

Well I went back and watched the gameplay videos, and I think I know what the problem is now.

1.  This game looks a lot better in motion than these screenshots suggest.  Also, geometry isn't the problem.

2.  I think the screens are bullshots (I hope) because they are TOO shiny.  That's right shiny.  It almost appears that everything has been coated with 2 layers of wax.  That and everything is a clean line.  Not enough grit.  Compare this for example to the Order, where they are attempting to do more with filtering, etc.  Real life doesn't look that damn shiny.  Then again, when I watched the video of the game it looked a lot better (less waxy).

Now I know why they are talking about filtering and lighting for this generation.  THAT is what will make things look realistic in the Order (or even ryse, so as to not descriminate).  Real life is dirty, imperfect, hazy, etc.  Whereas most time video games have this surreal glow to them.

This game is def impressive in terms of resolution, animation, effects, etc.  There is room to improve however, and I know PS4 can pull it off since its about art direction more than anything.  Its not about better graphics, its about smarter graphics/art if that makes any sense.  Still, game looks great.

---edit---

Some of the screenshots are better than others, like him hovering over the city or standing in front of the irish pub.  Some look too clean, like with the police tank in the background, or the mini bridge.
