Simplest places are often the best place to look :P

THANKS!  Watching it now.

Around the Network

don't think he'll be back

“Well, this was an idea that got pitched in the writers room and it sort of caught fire, and we thought it could be a fun way to shake things up. As soon as this idea came up, we started talking about what the next couple episodes could be and we got very excited about the way this change will affect the family dynamics and the characters.”

I'm going to tell you what is going to happen...from a writers perspective there are two primary possibilities. It was even hinted at in the beginning of the show.

1.) When Stewie was destroying the Time-Machine, he told Brian about how he had just traveled to the future in order to get that years new Christmas toys early...This is important.

2.) There will be a few episodes with the new dog, enough time to allow Stewie to get seriously attached to Vinny in place of Brian.

3.) Christmas is only a few weeks away, Family Guy is going to have a Christmas Episode Special...

4.) In said Episode, Stewie is going to remember that he had traveled to the Future just before he destroyed the time machine! He will find his future self, with Vinny in tow, tell himself what happens to Brian...and they go on an adventure to try and save him...BUT!... here is where the road splits.

5A.) Stewie saves Brian, "Saves Christmas" and takes the Comedic Route by killing Vinny who he is supposedly attached too, erasing all of the events of the past few episodes...Returning Brian to the Series.

5B.) Stewie manages to save Brian...but is conflicted, he has now become attached to Vinny...Brian senses this after Stewie tells him what was supposed to happen and convinces himself and Stewie that it was his time to go. He knows where the car is going to be when it hits him...and decides to let it happen after they say their final goodbyes.

The Credits start to roll...

Then Brian asks himself WTF he is doing, jumps out of the way and throws Vinny under the car instead...AAAND thats the end of the Episode. Back to normal :D

Perfect.  I'd actually be quite satisfied if that happens.  It's like The Death of Superman.  The story of his return was so good that I didn't feel cheated at all.  Hope they make it happen.  Vinny is okay but Brian is great.

They've killed off a main character before, just to reverse it later. It won't stick.

I'm sure he will be back if you look at the future episode list on Wikipedia they will have a show where Maya Rudolph is a guest voice as a runner that Brian falls for. Also since The Cleveland Sow got canceled Cleveland will return to Family Guy early next year.

there should be two Brians the one that died and the one that returned with the original time machine which never had to return to the time they changed to change it back to where it normally would be since nothing happened because they took the guns back. my head hurts and I don't even want to reread what I wrote

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Didn't he kill his mom, once? She survived. Brian will, too. Makes me want to watch the episode now, though. I DVR it every week but I don't always look at the recording. Tonight, I will...after the Walking Dead.

not trying to spoil much but the way brian dies leaves no wiggle room like Louis

Yeah no wiggle room is relative the possibilty for time travel is giving every writer infinite freedom to explain anything. even if stewie can`t build another time machine right now he just has to obtain the capacitors or get a new brilliant genius idea. Or he can regrow Brian from the DNA he found on floor of the house. Or parallel universes or whatever crazy explanation. maybe he destroys the universe and just sends his knowledge to a second stewie that came in the another universe thats exactly the same.

There is nothing you can not explain in a series like family guy. The easiest way he would aimelessly wander around where he destroyed his time machine and the thing he needs lies on the floor damaged but with the possibility to repair it or what we saw is a vision of things to come and stewie just wanted to know if he could stand another dog but decides to rescue brain. Or maybe Brain is really dead and they replaced him with another character because the viewers do not like him anymore.

yeah time travel is always a possibility, i was just refering to how when Lois died in the "simulation" episode she fell of the boat and her body wasn't recoverd making it plausible for her to come back, while Brain just got ran over by a car...then slowly passed away on the hospital bed

Yes I know. They made it seem so definitive in order to peak the interest of the viewers maybe because Louis already died so this time they made sure it was more believable by making it seem definitive. Maybe the dog will stay for a couple of episodes and at some point they bring brain back this or next season or maybe in 2 episodes. I would let him stay dead for a while so his return will generate some interest later. flesh out the new character a little and than kill him of for brain to come back.

Well, both Brian and Stewie died when they went to Vegas that time. I shall remain hopeful.
