Just watched the latest Episode of Family Guy and Brian was killed off...I thought by the end of the episode Stewie would biuld another time machine and rescue Brain but the Episode ended with them getting another talking dog "Vinny"

quite a shock to me; did not see that coming at all!!! will this be temporary? or will Vinny now be the new Brian?

The writer tends to troll, stewie will get tired of the new dog, dispose of it personally and build a time machine to get brian back I'm sure of it.

Didn't he kill his mom, once? She survived. Brian will, too. Makes me want to watch the episode now, though. I DVR it every week but I don't always look at the recording. Tonight, I will...after the Walking Dead.

I was wondering the same thing. I kept waiting and waiting during the entire episode expecting for something to happen that would bring Brian back but it never happened. The fact that it was a touching episode maye make me thing this may be the real deal. But the way Family Guys works, anything is open. They will probably try out the new dog looking for the audience's reaction. I think he will be back if ppl don't like Vinny. I personally not a big fan of him so far.

As someone who lost his dog 1 month ago to cancer (he was only 4) this episode touched me deeply :(

I have a feeling he will be back, even if MacFarlane isn't currently planning on it. The uproar will eventually be too much for him to ignore, or else the show's ratings will start to plunge. For my money anyway, Brian is a big part of the appeal of the show, and why it does as well as it does.

I remeber when my aunt's dog "Freeway"; a huskie died when I was a little kid; I used to visit him everyday, basically it was my dog but my mom wouldn't allow us to take it...he died so horribly; he lost his sight, then hearing, then hair, then it died. Their were days where I would just sit with him and pet him for hours as he was to sick/weak to move until the day I went to visit him and my aunt told me he died overnight....I cried hard that day :(

The writers seem t be pretty serious about his death. Hes not coming back anytime soon.

I'm going to tell you what is going to happen...from a writers perspective there are two primary possibilities. It was even hinted at in the beginning of the show.

1.) When Stewie was destroying the Time-Machine, he told Brian about how he had just traveled to the future in order to get that years new Christmas toys early...This is important.

2.) There will be a few episodes with the new dog, enough time to allow Stewie to get seriously attached to Vinny in place of Brian.

3.) Christmas is only a few weeks away, Family Guy is going to have a Christmas Episode Special...

4.) In said Episode, Stewie is going to remember that he had traveled to the Future just before he destroyed the time machine! He will find his future self, with Vinny in tow, tell himself what happens to Brian...and they go on an adventure to try and save him...BUT!... here is where the road splits.

5A.) Stewie saves Brian, "Saves Christmas" and takes the Comedic Route by killing Vinny who he is supposedly attached too, erasing all of the events of the past few episodes...Returning Brian to the Series.

5B.) Stewie manages to save Brian...but is conflicted, he has now become attached to Vinny...Brian senses this after Stewie tells him what was supposed to happen and convinces himself and Stewie that it was his time to go. He knows where the car is going to be when it hits him...and decides to let it happen after they say their final goodbyes.

The Credits start to roll...

Then Brian asks himself WTF he is doing, jumps out of the way and throws Vinny under the car instead...AAAND thats the end of the Episode. Back to normal :D
