They don´t have 3mi to sell before Christmass. They probably don´t have 2mi untill next week.

If they waste all PS4 suppply at smaller markets they are screwed.

There is no magic tree ripped with PS4 to pick and a magic supplay chain ready to delivere then to every custumer that wants it.

it is a lot harder and takes more time to plan and deliver for 30 countries than it is for 1. If you think Sony couldnt have just included a crapload more units if they decided to concentrate on 1 market then you are flat out wrong.

Yes, and that is because countries in South America and  some in Europe will reciave only a small supply of token unities.

And there is the marketing and advertising to go arround also.

And no, I don´t think Sony could have sold more than 1mi in NA day one. That is the hardcore market. And it was the easy part. IS the Europe hardcore market 1mi also? Will Sony sacrifice NA blackfriday for it?

I have my doubts Sony will sell much more than 500K next friday in Europe.

I said it before: day one is not important. It´s just a marketing tool to get people atention and debate.

Of course not. Sure the Xbox 1's sales aren't as impressive, but the Xbox 1 was $100 more expensive, so expecting the Xbox 1 to sell more or the same as the PS4 is silly.

The ps3 sold over 500units. Nice try. As for BF? Stores are already recieving supply for BF. I personally think its stupid since they will sell no matter when the put them out. I assume its to boost numbers to boast

So far so good. We know that PS4 is balling, but it's still too early to tell about XO. It's doing great so far, but we'll have to wait a few months to see if all the mistakes made by MS and the heat they got for it influence the sales. There is a huge number of Sony and MS fans who buy these new consoles no matter what, we have to wait till they all get their consoles, till the consoles stop being supply constrained and then we'll see just where they're standing.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Well, Wkipedia tells me that

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_3#Launch

"The console was originally planned for a global release through November, but at the start of September the release in Europe and the rest of the world was delayed until March.[34] With it being a somewhat last-minute delay, some companies had taken deposits for pre-orders, at which Sony informed customers that they were eligible for full refunds or could continue the pre-order.[35] On January 24, 2007, Sony announced that the PlayStation 3 would go on sale on March 23, 2007, in Europe, Australia, the Middle East, Africa and New Zealand.[8][9] The system sold about 600,000 units in its first two days.[36] On March 7, 2007, the 60 GB PlayStation 3 launched in Singapore with a price of S$799.[37] The console was launched in South Korea on June 16, 2007, as a single version equipped with an 80 GB hard drive and IPTV.[38]"

Things to note: It was released in March. It sold about 600k units in 2 days, not day one.

The thing is we can´t be sure of any thing. You can have you Target store number, I can tell you that PS4 is no show any where here in Brazil.

So comparing Wii, 360, and PS3 sales this gen has been ridiculous?  Well fuck me what have we been doing all this time I mean if they're different prices there's no comparison.

Day 1 is hugely important....iut shows demand right off the bat. If x1 sold 100 K day 1 you dont think that would be important?

They are the same. If MS decided to launch in NA only, they would still sell over a million. It's all limited by stock for both companies right now.

I somehow doubt that. You're basically implying that M$ produced an almost identical ammount to Sony overall, but just divided it up a lot more. I'm 99% sure they shipped the same ammount of units throughout the US as Sony, if not more, seeing as that's their strongest region (or used to be...). They just didn't sell more becuase there's less interest in the XBone in that region than the PS4. Just wait for the PS4 to release in the rest of it's regions, and it's going to skyrocket past XBone, even though it's probably done that already.

Ok so this is great news for me! I was able to pick up my PS4 at 12:30AM at my Local Best Buy. Figuring it would be just as easy I showed up at the same Best Buy on Xbox One release night 12:30 and they did not have any Xbox One's left! So then the next morning I called around to 3 GameSops, Looked on website at all the local Best Buys, Walmart, Target and KMart and could not find a single Xbox One left. If you logic is correct then there should be an Xbox One or as U like to call it XBone somewhere sitting on a shelf I can buy. If you would I would appreciate if you could take a look in the Chester County PA area and FIND ONE FOR ME!

I appreciate your education on how there are more Xbox Ones sitting on shelves waiting to buy. Let me know when you find it somewhere, I will run out to that local store and pick it up.

Major nelson and MS said themself there is PLENTY of x1 stock availabe and they sold less in the US then sony.. it is NOT a matter of supply, x1's demand is simply not as high. There are xi's here in many stores. Ps4 is sold out everywhere.

I cant get over how stupid people are on here. It makes no difference they launched in a number of countries it sold out everywhere. Stock is the limiting factor as it was with ps4. Seriously some people on here are painfully stupid.

The funny thing is all the Sony noobs were saying it would take 5 weeks to reach a million sale no stock, no demand no pre orders. When it's obvious it's sold just as well as the ps4 with similar launch stock available. The only difference is Sony is so worried about how badly they are are doing in the biggest market in the world with the ps3 they bottled it and sent all the stock over to America instead of having the confidence to launch in a number of major territories.

What is most impressive is the the xbox one as achieved these numbers with a console costing so much more than the ps4.

MS sold arounf 500-600K in the US and there are consoels everywhere on the shelves,MS themselves said there is stock available, this ruins your entire argument. Demand for x1 is simply not near as high. Even in the US.
