Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox has sold 1 million World wide in 24hours.(updated twice, Albert on Gaf.)

You might want to stop quoting that 2.3m figure.  The original quotes from Gamestop on the 5 sites I checked have all been edited to clearly say that number included both consoles.  Ars Technica's edit includes the word 'supplies' in the header now.  So GS were, as usual overstating the case by including at least all inquiries about both consoles and accessories in the total.  I doubt they meant software.  Games aren't console supplies.  GS still have more PS4 fans on their wait lists according to anecdotal evidence from a couple of sources I've seen but it's definitely not 2.3m.  Besides some of those people will find PS4's elsewhere or buy something else.  PCs, WiiUs, X1s, Etch-a-Sketches.  Or nothing at all.

http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/11/gamestop-2-3-million-people-still-waiting-for-a-ps4/

Not completely the OPs fault.  Lousy journaliism across the board.  Even the url still says PS4.

This is the original quote from the conference call.

"In addition to selling through all of our reservations and some additional allocation we've received from Sony, we still have over 2.3 million customers on the first to know list which indicates continued demand for months to come."

I don't know why the sites changed to include the Xbone but this part in conference call was about Sony and PS4 only.

Its the grape and fox tale... the fox saw a vinegrape and wanted the grape.. it tried to pick it several times, but couldn't reach... so she turned her back and said, I didn't wanted its sour... basically envy and despise..

Our equivalent in Brazil would be "Quem desdenha quer comprar".

Ohhhhh... thanks... the Portuguese expression makes everything simples

No problem... but why would us be in a case of sour grape towards Xbone if it is cheaper to buy than PS4 here in Brazil??? SOme people just preffer personal attacks... and owwww they love to call themselves unbiased. I preffer a reasonable biased opinion (all opinion must be biased) than a pretend unbiased one (that usually try to hide and give authority to themselves)...

It seems that Sony can make in 2 weeks stock for Europe to some... so that must mean that they were lazy the last months for USA right??? Or that we will have a lot of supply WW for the next weeks...

The count is simple... MS will take a long time to launch to other countries beside the 13 (21 to 13 because of voice localization and TV deals doesn't make much sense since some of the places they released don't have voice support or TV) so they PROBABLY send all the stock to the launch countries and will probably have small flow of shipments for a few months... Sony in the other hand send 1M to 2 countries and will launch to another 33 in the next week, so they had already separated 1M for NA and another figure for the others (1M-1,5M seems reasonable since its a lot of areas and their strongest places).

So we can say that Sony have produced 2-2,5M for launch and MS 1M... that may be because they started latter because they finished the project later (if we look to annoucement dates that may be the case) or because they had issues in the beggining of production (yield issues), or they may have started together and this difference is because of yields or MS saw that the demand wouldn't be that big and preffered to have close to demand production (which is wise from marketing and also inventory stand-point)... Its your take, but to denny that they had any yield issues just because they delivered 1M in launch is ludicrous... as people said before they could even have dropped a lot of money to produce more to offset the yield issues (the issue doesn't mean that they can't produce, but maybe that their efficiency is not up to standards).

Yield issues my arse!!

So why MS is so behind in terms of supply compared to Sony? Yield issues.

No, he is saying the demand is simply not on the same level

He would never admit.

Well those are the only two options

No he would probably change topic or attack one of the other people here... or he would say MS is using a third option, helding inventory to creat buzz (even letting Sony selll a lot more than they).

Any proof of the time difference??? Because kowenicki say that they started together.

Great sales "considering its price" :P

Yield issues my arse!!

Cboat rumours as a source should be banned.

we all know why you are asking for this, its because recently cboat has been leaking bad leaks about microsoft. so no it shouldnt be. unless you provide data that proves that there where in fact no yeild issues then you have no legs to stand on with requesting that users should be banned for quoting a leaker who is most of the time right.  you always claim to be a man of "facts", care to provide any fact that proves there was no yield issues at all? spare me the 1 Million in 24 hour number, it did those numbers we get it, however it doesnt disprove the yield issue claims.

The reason being that...?

just dont bother dude. let people live in a world full of delusions. i am still waiting for any factual prove that there was not a yield issue at any time.

So the only evidence that there were any yield issues was cboat? lulz
