Where is your proof that they are behind in terms of supply? And when you show me that proof, where is your proof that it is due to yield issues?

PS4 have over 2 million units ready in three weeks from launch (even more but we still needs the data from WW)... MS won't have close 2 million units at the third week.

Sony have almost double of units than MS have... even when I guess MS have more factories working with Xbone than Sony with PS4... that's means the production for Sony is more efficient than for MS... that is what people says "yield issues"...

Example...

+ PS4's wafer have 80% efficience... so 80% of the chips produced can be used to PS4.
+ Xbone's wafer have 50% efficience... so 50% of the chips produced can be used to Xbone.

In this scenario... due yelds issues... MS needs to produce almost double of wafers than Sony to ship the same amount of consoles... and for real Sony is shipping close to twice the numbers of consoles than MS.

Just admit Cboat was wrong :)

How? Do you know what "yields issues" means?

... Or demand for PS4 is simply greater, thus Sony need to produce more?

And how do you know that MS wont have 2 Million shipped in 3 Weeks?

Yield issues my arse!!

So why MS is so behind in terms of supply compared to Sony? Yield issues.

What if they start producing later, is that still called yield? stop throwning shit around

my estimate was the 1.6 million manufactured units ( i need to have a look at that was a interesting post end august i think)

not definitive proof but fixing a yeild issue would be a pretty good reason why production started later..

..and ps4 production was leaked by sept 7 while xbone production was leaked by sept 15.   are you so sure MS started later?

we won't have true perspecitive on how much MSony produced until dec 31.  but if on dec 31st the evidence will be there or not.

I think the demand for PS4 and Xbone are close to each other... the difference is supply at least for the first 5 million units.

They shipped 1 million units for the launch... they have months to prepare 1 million units... now two weeks after they come with more 1 million? That won't happen.

Sony limited the supply in US to launch in EU... they didn't send everything to US.

Its the grape and fox tale... the fox saw a vinegrape and wanted the grape.. it tried to pick it several times, but couldn't reach... so she turned her back and said, I didn't wanted its sour... basically envy and despise..

Our equivalent in Brazil would be "Quem desdenha quer comprar".

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

LOL, how is it? Both have launched in NA, Apples to Apples. In actual fact Albert makes the One numbers look worse by reminding us that PS4 HAS NOT launched in the U.K . yet.

So the NA aren't where we think they are. At least that's what im getting from this.

Yea, I would think he would have said numbers are very close if the One sold ~900K.  So, I'm guessing ~600K-750K in NA.  Those are great numbers, but not when compared to the competition, which still has 2.3M preorders to fulfil from Gamestop alone.  If Sony can manage to get at least half of those out before the end of the year, the gap is going to be quite large.  And this is in MS's best region.

You might want to stop quoting that 2.3m figure.  The original quotes from Gamestop on the 5 sites I checked have all been edited to clearly say that number included both consoles.  Ars Technica's edit includes the word 'supplies' in the header now.  So GS were, as usual overstating the case by including at least all inquiries about both consoles and accessories in the total.  I doubt they meant software.  Games aren't console supplies.  GS still have more PS4 fans on their wait lists according to anecdotal evidence from a couple of sources I've seen but it's definitely not 2.3m.  Besides some of those people will find PS4's elsewhere or buy something else.  PCs, WiiUs, X1s, Etch-a-Sketches.  Or nothing at all.

Not completely the OPs fault.  Lousy journaliism across the board.  Even the url still says PS4.
