Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Is Quantum Break this gen's Gears of War (First REAL Next gen game??)

You can say it however you like. As I said, considering how far down the list it is between critical reception and sales and that what is good or not is subjective, to say it as if the game is factually one of the best is silly.

As far as Quantum Break goes, it has potential but calling it the first true next-gen game is giving too much credit to a game we still don't know much about and there are games coming out before it that will likely beat it to the punch for that title.

Only thing silly is what you are saying. The game got good reviews across the board and as I said, the developer him self is saying the game was a success for them and that a sequel is coming.

What is a REAL next gen game??

Generation 8 Predictions so far.....(as of 9/2013)

Console that will sell most: Nintendo Wii U

Who will sell more consoles between Microsoft/SONY: SONY

OP still hasn't seen Driveclub or Shadowfall or Second Son or the Order, but it's okay only Xbox games look next gen to him apparently.

It does look gorgeous and the premise sounds interesting. I'd say that it has the potential to be a system seller for the Xbox One, though maybe not to the degree that Titanfall, Halo, or a new Gears would be. One things for sure, Microsoft's 1st party is better than it's ever been, us Xbox fans are in for a real treat this generation.

1. Remedy isn't 1st party.

2. Respawn isn't 1st party.

3. Gears will most likely be multiplatform this gen, if the series continues.

4. Epic isn't 1st party.

5. How do you know 1st party is the best it's ever been? Turn10 just pumped out it's worst game to date and it's top 3 microsoft studio, baseless assumptions much or blind optimism?

Give remedy and quantum break some credit. Gears of war was awesome in Xbox 360. But remedy wants to make Xbox One awesome with their own way. :p :p

What game is that in your sig?

Yeah, just like 2.5 - 3 million people. Oo

1. That figure is wrong.
2. Most of its sales are bargain bin.  Google 'Alan Wake flop'.

1. no, it is not.
2. still a lot of people loved Alan Wake. Including me. Google 'Alan Wake is awesome!'

Alan Wake X360 2010 Action Microsoft Game Studios 0.61 0.44 0.05 0.12 1.22

You're forgetting digital sales though, also there was a Forza 3 + Alan Wake (digital) bundle so looking at the huge boost Forza 3 got we know Alan Wake has sold at least 2m - 2.5m on 360 alone. Then it was released on PC and has probably sold 0.5m - 1m, thus the 2.5m - 3.5m estimate is accurate.

Such a great game, it did well at around 3m but it's a shame it didn't do better, I want a sequel.
