Forums - Gaming Discussion - Xbox One launch issues incoming?

Picked mine up this morning and waiting at the door was a midnight launch guy with his faulty Xbone , he got a replacement but talking to him he couldn't get past the xbox logo and tried to 4am .
when i turned mine on and after downloading and installing the update the same thing happened it stayed at the xbox logo , after waiting awhile I started to think I had the same problem , then I put a game in and bingo it did the start up.

They should really just update every console before it's shipped its re-dick-u-las

Not practical. The units are already boxed way before launch and in that time window they do a lot of bugfixes/enhancements and present the day 1 update. Standard practice for electronics manfacturers.

Impossible.

When you're putting out a product you have to have a stop date where there are no further changes to the code based on solid testing. This way full regression testing can be done on static code.

So they have to release with that stable release and then focus on a branched code base which is where the update comes from. That update is individually tested within its branch until prove to be good then it is available for release. Gurantee that happened WELL after initial manufacturing when into place and it was too late to change.

Next batch of console will have update in place after branch is merged with trunk and fully regression tested as well.

VGChartz very own GribbleGrunger is spreading the word, so no worries OP: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=720237

Hasn't this happened before?

According NeoGaf it has only happened to one console, so far.

Throws that "720p" thing in there.

Probably as sony fan going to extreme lengths to get a fail video for the xbox one.

It's not day one yet, how can you complain about a day one update? lets see if tis issue happens tomorrow.

So pretty much like the MS fans, then?

So you agree some fans on both sides can be pretty crappy?  :)
