I like how the only thing MS fanboys saw in the whole article is TLOU rating
I mean how about them saying that Xbox One supports remote controls and the PS4 doesn't ?
and blocking the guy who said otherwise and call him creepy ? even though he was right .
I mean come on MS fanboys , this site is biased and you know that .

The remote control functionaility thing is even more trivial than the TLOU rating.  The guy said something wrong about remote control functionality. Thats hardly the scandal of the decade but ofcourse were just going to latch on to whatever meaningless tidbit we can right?

Actually its the opposite. Reviews are opinions, thats the trivial one but not checking facts is just bad journalism. Its already bad enough that we have sides of the community putting a lot of spin on things but when a gaming media isn't doing their homework and causes misinformation then they should be criticized. They are suppose to be the professional insiders of our industry. We should hold them accountable instead of giving them a free pass or we will never see the end of it.

They do have the ONLY Bad Western Review of The Wonderful 101.

So yeah, they are a completely bias site for game reviews.

Thanks for letting us know about their other sites, so we can also avoid them as well.

Don't forget they scored COD Ghosts on PS4 0.5 lower than X1 because PS4 versions had alledgedly framerates stutters (cause framerates were over 60fps the irony) which were corrected after the patch with 2.5 more pixels, but still PS4 COD version is the worst COD version ever!

And that that didn't prevent Polygon to score Ryse 6/10 when Ryse is 99% time not locked 30fps and judders.

They are rubbish. Their updates are just so absurdly inconsistent. They'll just update it when they want more hits

The fact that they get a man to review Killzone who hates Killzone just says everything about them. The other thing is that their review scores are done by a discussion of their editors (or something) so the whole site decides to give another PS exclusive the lowest score of any major publication

The Last of Us review still make me angry

This is exactly the point I was trying to get across in my last post. Sure there a bit biased, but did that stop your enjoyment of the last of us game? Why did that make you angry? gaming sites and people can be biased all they want, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it and it's not going to stop me from enjoying the types of games I enjoy.

People won't buy The Last of Us based on this and they really really really really should

What?? Do you honestly believe that? You think that somone who was interested in The Last of Us is not going to buy it because of Polygons review?? Seriously? When did polygon become the end all be all of game journalism? If EVERY other site and publication is giving the game a 10 then why on earth is the one mediocre review the one that you harp on?

I don't respect it but I understand the child like need for validation that some gamers have... but isn't near universal praise validation enough? Why does the one outlier become the one you concentrate on? This isn't a situation where you like a game and all the reviews trash it or where you hate a game and all the reviews praise it (this happened to me with GTAIV). Most everybody agrees with your opinion so what more do you want?? Does every single review have to be exactly the same? Isn't it entirely possible that someone genuinely didn't like it as much as you or everyone else?

Yes, COD Ghosts suffered from many performance issues on the PS4. The frame rate being higher than 60 is not a perk, it is a optimisation falue.

It was a poor job of IW Q&A, they couldn´t even noticed the difference between native 1080p and 720p.

Polygon was the few that stated what was clear. And they suffered for that.

PS: Polygon reviews of Xbox exclusives are also below metacritic avarage.

Fair point. But the issue at hand here is remote control functionality. Its hardly a major feature or something that would be a deal breaker for anyone. I'm not concerned with defending polygon. I don't even visit their website. And if not for people constantly complaining about how bias they are I probably would know nothing about them. That mistake could be an example of incompetence and bad journalism, but its harldy indicative of some huge conspiracy.

People mad at polygon for being bad at their job or inconsistent is one thing, but I don't see enough evidence to accuse them of much more than that.

I cannot answer you on the conspiracy thing because when I see bad reviews, I just assume its John Snow writing all of them. Its easier to understand that way. lol!

But regardless of the functionality is, accuracy is what we want from our media outlets. That is why we watch them and read their articles. If they can't even be corrected then of course that will raise some red flags. Like I said they are suppose to be the professionals and not acting like one can get you into a lot of heat and a boat load of criticism.

It will probably influence some people. It is not a good website, but it seems to be quite popular. I just hope people stop reading it. The Last of Us was one particular problem and if it was a one off, I would manage, but most of what the publish is nonsense

But that's not the point. The problem is that they are completely inconsistent between reviews. They clearly just search for any excuses to rate PS4 games lower than X1.

The occasional stuttering or rare drops (during cinematics) forced them to downrate COD on PS4 but clearly, it didn't disturb them when stuttering is 99% present in DR3 or Ryse or when DR3 drops to 17fps or Ryse drops to 16fps, it is not a problem either or they just didn't see the drops (But they clearly noticed the drops on PS4 games). That is clearly unfair. And we still haven't see DF next gen face-off with COD...

We may still have others "Ryseistic" surprises with others games.

I liked Phillip Kollar quite a bit back in his GameInformer days. Reading his TLOU right now, I don't really see a bias or outright lies... it truly seems like the game just wasn't for him. Again, going back to his GameInformer days, he strikes me as a guy who likes large-scale RPGs or action/adventure titles first and foremost, so it's not too hard to think that he simply didn't appreciate TLOU for what it was.

But, given the context of the other events which have conspired at Polygon, I can see why you might draw the conclusion that they'll hardly ever give Sony a break.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAA

Thanks for the article link, needed a good, deep, hearty laugh today. What was everyone's favorite part? Mine was the one where they linked to the IGN Playstation Boards where some butt hurt nerd was whining about "smaller, biased" sites ruining PS4 reviews. When, in reality, those smaller sites are the ones you should actually trust.

Also, Polygon is MS biased? What better way would their be to show their MS love than to overrate MS's incredibly important exclusive Xbox One launch games?

Forza - Polygon scored higher than meta average
Ryse - Polygon scored lower than meta average
Dead Rising 3 - lower
Lococycle - lower
Crimson Dragon - lower
Killer Instinct - cccccombo breaker! could not even be bothered to review it :(
Zoo Tycoon - higher
Powerstar Golf - MS moneyhats did not arrive in time for a review :(

So much bias.
