Alright... look at Super Mario 3D land.

To cut this short. Of course its a system seller. Especially when it scores in 9.5 range. Every game on that range is gonna be a system seller.

you mean like Skyward Sword...oh wait

You have to take into account that Skyward Sword was released very late into the console's life (the console last year practically), plus it requires the Wii Motion Plus, games that require any kind of accessory will always have lower sales; unless said accessory comes with the game (although it losses appeal because it's going to be more expensive), which Skyward Sword did not except for a special bundle that included a Zelda theme Wii remote.

the man said EVERY game. that doesnt leave much room for exceptions. it required motion plus? so what, taht shouldnt matter if it moved consoles as the Wii was bundled with that motion+ controller anyway. My point is the idea of every game scoring that high moving consoles is absurd and wrong. Hell I dont expect a massive boost for 3ds from Zelda

If someone has the brains to put Wii U demos in public with the game running, it will definitely be a system seller. All of the demos I've seen have either been turned completely off or have old videos running on them.

Look at Mario 64 and tell us if you think that was a system seller.

3D World looks terrific and all, but Mario 64 it ain't. Mario 64 might be the greatest game ever made and was arguably the first masterpiece 3D gaming title.

Since it was delayed so much already, it should have been delayed for another year to be a Wii/Wii U title, just like Twilight Princess was with the Wii and Gamecube.  They have to be shaking their heads for the way it turned out.

that was never going to happen. THey would have to have changed the game significantly to have it work with the WIi U pad. Yes they didnt HAVE to, but they had to try to sell that pad especially in the first year.

WTH is this? comparing the last big hit for Wii to the first big hitter for Wii U....mkay. That logic.

Also, if Wii sales picked up in the relase week of SS (and they certainly did) it was still a system seller.

Fair enough. But it did matter, unlike the normal Wii remote which works with every single Wii game out there, the Wii motion plus does not; unless every single Wii owner owns a Wii Motion Plus, you will always going to lose potential costumers, plus being released so late into the console's life (on what was considered a "dying" console) didn't help at all.

But I agree that not every game with a high metascore is going to be a system seller. Simple because the general consumer doesn't give a f*ck about game reviews, it all comes down to marketing and brand name.

A system that was dying/dead :-/ Come on now :0

Not for me, but it does strengthen my case to get a Wii U. So far it's the 4th "small" reason I think I should get a Wii U after NSMB U (lumping in Luigi's game here too), Pikmin and Zelda WW HD. Smash Bros. will be the game that gets me to move, and for me that's a "true" system seller.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS
