i had to say it's totally expected. ps4 is more powerful in terms of graphics because of GDDR5. unless someone invents some tech so computer graphics are less dependent on textures to be good looking, after a year or two, the ps4 advantage would be even greater when it comes into first party games, as ps4 can handle more diverse textures with large bandwidth. yet xo is stuck at its small 32MB eSRAM to achieve good bandwidth. graphics cards use GDDR memory with practical reasons!

again, 3rd party will always set xo as optimization target. so xo is still going to be fine and it will excel in terms of utilities. a very good entertainment system indeed. just not the better gaming system.

I thought graphics didn't matter for a game to be good. I was wrong, apparently gameplay doesn't either.

Where did you get that notion? Average review score is higher than most thought here? Heres the thread on vgchartz with users predicting the metacritic score for Ryze.

Hint: Most thought it would be higher.

of course they did... lol

Yeah. It's just it completely conflicts with your perception of 'most' other posters opinions.

The actual average predition here for Ryse was 78 and Knack was 77, hardly any difference.

I just find its just interesting that people who proclaimed this game was utter garbage in all the reveal videos from E3 onwards then decided to predict decent review scores in the review thread... dont you think? lol

"This game looks shit"  metascore prediciton... 80 plus.  lol.  Then when it fails to reach the lofty standards... well.... you know how it goes.

So obvious.

Really, people overpredicted Ryse so they could laugh about it now? Do you have any more conspiracy theories? Seriously the only person salty in this thread is you, cause a couple days ago you yourself predicted a mid 70s score for Ryse (http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=5813125), and now that it's not close to that, you're desperately searching for ways to justify your Ryse purchase.

I see people here has dificult understanding irony. And it´s quite boring having to explain my point.

I´m not discussing which game does more. Killzone does more, but not without flaws. It was a desing decison go to "close" 60fps and 1080p, and don´t be fulled, GG sacrificed a lot to do this. And, being honest, the art stile is not that good.

GG clearly had a lot more time to develop Killzone and target the PS4 from de begining. Ryse development was a mess, it started as a 360 Kinect game, it was on limbo the same time Crytek released  2 Crysis and Warface.

Ok, I digress.

My point is, you can´t see @ethomaz creating threds like "DF- Killzone (Drop Below 30fps)". See? both cases the games strugle to maintain their fps targets.

These guys are neatpicking every single aspect of every Xbox One game. Everybody knows the GPU are weaker, eventhough, an ordinary gamer, with an ordinary TV, playing at an ordinary distance would have hard time to figure out the "resolutiongate".

They have to time and time again point obscure performance aspects to downplay anything Xbox One has to offer. Remember how they react when Polygon was honest and told they couldn´t se any difference between COD:Ghost version? Or Battlefield 4 face-off that shows nothing else beyond the resoluiton? Well, I´m surprised that LevelCap isn´t being bullied for saing BF4 "plays exactly the same on PS4 and XOne".

Ok, I wrote too much.

Ok fair enough. But about the bolded: is it irony there or from a Polygon source?

Because on the video performance on the face-off, PS4 version of BF4 has also clearly a better framerates performance and less drops and it was duly noted by DF in the article.

and away from the pixel counters I think is clear...

For all the simplicity of its mechanics, Ryse’s artistry is second to none. Crytek is home not just to Europe’s best technical minds, it seems, but to some of its finest videogame artists, too. Even with its constant cribbing from Hollywood, there has never been a game world of such striking beauty, variety or detail. It’s a monumental piece of world-building that sets the standard for videogame fantasy in much the same way Gears Of War established its own precedents during the previous generation. Like the first Gears, Ryse is a simple game loaded with small-scale encounters and rudimentary set-pieces with the intention of hustling you towards something beautiful. Both have their own ‘horror’ stage, both have sieges, both have stationary guns of sorts, and Ryse, like Gears, has room to grow if given the chance. The game has a decisive ending, but it also opens the window to something even more fantastical, offering greater scope for mechanical depth and further extraordinary visual extremes.

Best lookign next gen game.  Many agree.

Looking forward to playing this tomorrow. Average review score is higher than most thought here and I guess that makes some salty.

@globalisateur

People have been expecting the PS4 to blow away the XOne in performance. What I said is that although the PS4 is more powerfull the first batch of games didn´t show any noticiable difference IF you are a ordinary gamer, they only way to tell which is "better" is playing both versions side-by-side and look at minor details in the background.

It´s not like a person will walk into a game store stare at both version and proclaim "Wow, the PS4 version is 225% better than the XOne". And I can ensure you, there will be people that won´t be able to tell current-gen apart from next-gen games.

Microsoft made a decision to sacrifice the GPU to achieve a relative good balance in game performance, multimidia, apps and power consumption.

ok serious answers guys....who expects crytek to ever make a console game that doesnt go below 30fps? I dont.

No surprises at all. Not ONE.
