Damn it is ugly, I think I stay with japanese devs. I mean it looks worse than GTA 3 to PS3. It should be possible to make a better copy. I hope that no one buys this shit! Personally I will stay with Japanese devs, Capcom is atleast giving Wii two good titles out there this year. OT Welcome back Kwaad.

I just looked into this. I know what happend, and why the Wii graphics look so bad.

They mad a big big VERY big judgment call.

They used the Next Gen graphics Engine. And they set al the settings as low as they could go to make it run. If you look at the buildings, characters. They have a similar rendering Technique. I'd be willing to bet quite a bit of money that the  Wii version is running the same graphics engine as the PS3/360. The PS3/360 games look good from the 1 screenshot I assed myself with at looking at. The Wii still can do ALOT more than this, however, this is what happens when you try to run a next gen game, on a last gen console, with all the shaders turned on. You have to sacrafice something. However on this, it looks like they sacraficed everthing. They should have killed the character models, and allowed the city geometry to look better. Looking at what I think. This was a PS3/360 game and cheaply ported to the Wii. It hopefully might show devs out there, do NOT port games directly from the PS3/360 to the Wii. It will never have a good outcome.

(You should never create a game for something that has as much power as a PS3/360, and then try to put it on something with so little as a Wii. It needs a seprate graphics engine, due to the massive diffrences between the two power levels, it needs to be totally rebuilt. Otherwise, you will end up seeing crap like this.)

Seriously tho. Why did nintendo give the OK for this game? This makes the Wii look bad. That looks sub-par for a launch PS2 game.

PS2? That is too much credit, these graphics are atrochious. I agree with Kwaad on the next article stiting it should have had a different engine. Maybe they are trying to rush it out in Wii-frenzy and hope that since a lot of people are begging for wii-games that we might purchase it. WRONG, Im not buying it!

this is what I was thinking might happen. since the Wii is all about the controller scheme developers are gonna start thinking "Let's just not focus on the graphics that much. People just want to have fun swinging the controller" or something like that. Now here we are looking at a game like that. The developers know that this game looks like crud, but they are thinking people won't care as long the Wii mote part is fun. Are you people going to start agreeing that lazy developers do exist like how Ps3 fanboys have been complaining about? Unless this was all down to the publisher's decision.

i tend to agree with kwaad, it really looks like a downgraded version of the PS3 game. it's pretty sad that the GC game is 10 times prettier than this crap. when is the waking call going to happen for the wii, graphic-wise? Do we really have to wait till MP3 and Galaxy to prove to third party that the wii can actually look better than GC/PS2 (or for this PS1 / N64)???? disheartening to say the least....

This game got crap reviews for all systems, not just Wii. This game could have been better on each system and since it was supposedly built ground up for Wii it should have been better. But this is usually the problem with licensed games. A lot of money is spent on the license and there isn't that much money left over to make a good game. And sadly it doesn't matter because if it is a popular license it will sell no matter what.

The general mentality of most third party publishers is why should they spend the time (24 months) and money ($20 Million+) to make a good Spiderman game when they can rush it out the door (12 months) at a fraction of the cost ($5 Million) and sell roughly as many copies ...

This is the general reason licenced games usually suck, the Publisher buys rights to the licence because they know they will be able to sell enough games regardless of the quality of the game. On occasion they farm the title out to a good developer or the movie gets delayed (providing extra development time) and the game turns out well, but that seems to be rare.

They rushed this game to release with the movie, but again I havent seen any good quality game form acclaim or activision in a decade.

This is barely beyond SNES w/FX chip.  PS1 could definitely do similar graphics.  I don't know if the game is fun or not since I haven't played it, but somehow I doubt much effort was put in given the pathetic effort made on the graphics.  How they expect anyone to drop $50 for this bullshit is beyond me.
