SONY's only released Killzone. It's not their fault Activision and EA did a good job making their franchises big.

There aren't any new shooter IPs announced, so I'd say this is a false assumption. Plus, there are a bunch of non-shooting games in development by SONY's first party.

It just shows that shooters can be rehashed and dump out in time for a new launch. Beside Microsoft with the Xbox and Xbox 360 got market share away from Sony by catering to the shooter fans with Halo, COD & Gears of wars and offering a superior online experience. Sony wants to recapture that lost market. Beside Game like Final Fantasy and uncharted are much more refined and will need much more time in development.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with shooters. But latest offerings have been crap.

These shooter clones are a disease of the industry.

I don't see the appeal, or why people play certain FPS over and over. Cod, and Battlefield is the same thing but different skin I tell ya. I've played both MW3, and Battlefield 3 (PS+ benefit) finished their compaigns and then its byebye..

The Killzone franchise on the otherhand is different. Its a continuing story.
