I know, I know, it is rocket science. Reason why not everybody can compute that equation.

But i do think that people is overlooking the situation right know. Yes, the Wii U is doing bad after 1 year, and there is no concrete facts that show it is going to change in the close future. But, there is a dupla, the Wii U is not alone. His little brother the 3DS is watching his back. And man, what a way to do it. It is a way long road to the end of this gen, hopefully 3DS keeps the momentum and the Wii U picks up the game.

But you got to give credit to Nintendo also, they are pitching the 3DS like real bosses. +400k units in the last WEEK, and it is not even Black Friday. 

Let see what happen.  The Wii U has also been pitched hard in the last week, in fact i have seen more Wii U commercials than PS4 and XBOX ONE together on FOX HD, even Ubisoft pitching Wii U games.

I will tell you something little man: Wii U will be the leader of the 8th gen sales wise with a lot more than your estimate of 30 millions sold.
More than 50 easily.

I think 3DS will gas out just shy of 100 million, sorta like the Wii did. It might be able to crawl there.

This is the 3DS' peak right now, after this year IMO most of Nintendo's big bullets are spent and I think if you make new hardware revisions a yearly thing, it loses some of its impact.

I think Wii U could do 60 million at best, but no less than 30 million. The thing is, I don't understand the reason Wii U isn''t selling. Free online, quality titles, actual innovation, backwards compatible, and nothing behind a paywall! Yes, there's not good third party support, but what happened to the +30 million people who bought MarioKart Wii, or +10 million people who bought SSBB/ SMG?
