Forums - Gaming Discussion - Most photorealistic game ever?

Just one problem here, given the fact that driveclub already has gone gold during the TGS, why wouldn't they use the alpha/retail version. The Beta is an older unoptimised version of the game. If you think the early driveclub footage was running on a ps4, well I am sorry to dissapoint you, it was running on a PC.         But the most probable scenario is that the TGS had a far more advanced alpha (probably retail version) which has been optimized for the PS4 and looks better than the Beta which is simply a fast port from a devpc to a PS4.

Point is driveclub will look better than it's beta especially Norway and Canada look stunning. Canada was the retail version gif in my previous post. (The developer itself declared that this Gif is coming from the Japanese retail version) Although I've no doubt that location's as India simply aren't looking that stunning. But on the other hand let's not start a shitfight since we will find out in 10 days. You think the game will not look better than it's Beta, I think it will.

(Source that this gif is according to the developer indeed from the retail version.)

Damage looks crap though, and I am sure that aspect was already final in the Beta

Just go back to MisterXmedia and keep his insanity there.

Final Build

Much improved AA, Check out those clean Power lines

Guys, modded Crysis blows DriveClub completely away, lets not even attempt to argue that, its really obvious. r However, it does seem unfair and pointless to compare a modded version of game vs a non released, non -enhancable game

It's down to a difference of opinion then. To me, the physics were one of the main things that make modded Crysis the most photorealistic game I've seen to date.

First off a modded Crysis only improves on the original game's graphics, it makes no attempt to replace the physics engine that PC gamers know and love. Second of all your opinion seems partly contradictory given the fact that your making a clear dependence on a game's modded graphics rather than it's physics system to judge it's achievement on realism. Third, game physics DON'T reproduce reference images from real life ...

Nothing contradctory about it; the modded graphics and the (original) physics both combine to create what is it to me the most photoreal game I have yet to see.

Then which aspect does factor more into photorealism then ...

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

The graphics contribute more; the physics are like the icing/sauce of the meal.
