Looks like Apple iTV and/or Apple set top box for the living room is indeed a go.

Meh.

Apple is one of those companies that has the best product launches of all time, but fold or look second best when somebody actually offers halfway decent competition against them.

They've got competition not only from set top boxes, but from products like Roku, or Chromecast.

For anybody hoping that this product will reignite the glory that used to be Apple, this wont go far enough, the set top box market ain't that big, sorry.

And Xbox One.

Dont forget Microsoft are already making their own channels.

Apple are late to the party on this one.

Xbox One does loads more than Google TV or Apple TV.

What does this mean if it went through? Does Microsoft have to pay Apple in the future?

From what I'm reading, it sounds like it already happen.

If Apple only paid $345 million, I don't think it'll have much if any impact on MS.
