Well it has been a whole year now since the console launched.  I bought mine on day one.

I only had ever heard of the Xbox 360 faulty systems with the "red ring of death" I believe it was called.

If I had known that launch systems usually had problems I would totally have held off on the Wii U until this year.

My first Wii U kept freezing, so I sent it into Nintendo for repairs.  It took over a month for them to get it back to me.  When it finally got back to me, I had found out that they did not repair the system, only that they had sent me a new one with the same problems as the last one and all of my data was gone.

To this day it still freezes off and on, for some reason when it is loading the eshop and miiverse a lot lately.  Anyone else have issues?

Is their a way yet to copy and transfer Wii U game data to another system?  I just don't want to lose my data again...

That's because it was a software issue, not a hardware issue. Change the name of the heading, please. It is misleading. The freezes were fixed with updates that Nintendo released. Only freezing now is from the YouTube app and Splinter Cell: Blacklist multiplayer. Most of the freezes happen while online which means there are still a couple of bugs to work out. Not hardware though...

I have a day one launch system that has worked great since purchase.  I have a lot of games and play on it a lot and have never have any problems at all.

Stop hating and start playing.

For some reason I couldn't use the pad to turn on the console every fifth time or so. Had to do it manually, or with a Wiimote. Thought the pad was faulty but I was to lazy to do something about it. Since last update I've had no issues though, so I guess it was just a software problem. Gotta love when your system repairs itself!

Haven't had any other issues apart from Duck Tales crashing two times.

My 32GB launch system works fine. I had plenty of freezes throughout the first year but that was software/OS issue. They did numerous patches to fix the freezes. Freezes still occur but way less than they used to.  Lately, I mainly noticed freezes while Netflix was trying to load.

Is Duck Tales crashing anytime you look at some of the Leaderboard stats?  Or is that just me?

Mine is a day 1 launch system. Almost no problems ever. YouTube has frozen a few times, but that's probably that app. That's it, and I've used it a lot.

Are you sure its the system? If the disc is scratched or dirty it can cause strange defects in a games behavior. I once rented Metal Gear Solid 2 for the PS2 and it would consistently freeze up after the first level because the disc was damaged.

Didn't have a single problem with my Wii U I got for christmas!

I don't remember what level it was, only that it crashed right after I had finished a level and before the saving process. Second time was a few seconds in on the Transylvania stage. The audio got all messed up and the game sounded like a hundred harpies having sex or something, and then it just stopped responding.

My WiiU struggles to stay connected via wi-fi in the living room, weak antenna I guess. PS3 and now PS4 next to it are fine. It crashes occasionally requiring to unplug the power cord to get it going again.

You shouldn't have to unplug it anymore.  I believe an update addressed that and now you can simply just hold the power button down (like it should have been in the first place) when it freezes to get it to turn off/reset.
