Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Report Says Critics Favored Wii U’s Launch Line-Up More Than PS4 Launch Titles

The games are not important, remember 'Even if PS3 has no games it will sell 5 million'

Meh..

Zombie U scoring higher than Killzone is almost criminal.
the quality difference in Killzone's favor, including polish, production values, gameplay, content isnt even close.
reviewers really need to learn to be consistent or at least have a set standard.

So, what happened to that mentality tha claimed t reviews are very important and that sales do not determine success when the Wii was dominating?

Someone said that?

PS4's launch lineup makes the Wii U's look good, and that's hard to do. I'm baffled as to how well PS4 has sold out to gate when I look at the mediocrity found throughout its launch lineup. Seriously, what are the games that people are finding such interest in and running out to spend $450+ on, because I don't see them? I guess Killzone looks decent, but that game is the definition of derivative...

The ones with the awful games is the WII U otherwise it wouldn't be in this irrelevency mess. Like malstrom has said before, sales = quality.

His arguments are just a bit more complicated than that -_-

Also, I'm not trying to be a smart ass.. I'm honestly curious.. what are the outstanding PS4 games bringing in such demand and interest?

His arguements ain't all that complicated actually. -_-

It's got to be doing sonething right otherwise it wouldn't sell a million on launch day but honestly alot of the sales from the couple months where alot of hardcore sony fans are purchasing the console. MOST consoles actually don't have very good launch games but the WII is an exception to this rule and I expect the X1 to also have a modiocre launch too. Launch games really aren't that important to a consoles success because I remeber the PS1 and PS2 having awful launch games to boot. It's the launch WINDOW and BEYOND that's really important. If your going to measure the game quality using metacritic then I have nothing more to say and you may continue on not having learned a thing from this tiny lecture.

I wouldn't say lying but biased no doubt.

well yeah I mean it's not like they are giving an honest opinion when they give low scores. that only happens when they give high scores

and lets face it we all know the industry loves Nintendo more than Sony

And it's certainly odd when there's a big difference between the review scores and the user scores.

And I would say Sony has more haters than Nintendo definitely. Where's Nintendo equivalent of Tom Chick or Polygon?

Until recently, Nintendo has been consistently burned by Polygon.

Now GameSpot is public enemy number one.

Hmmm, maybe the third party games? Those are pretty important too. Despite the hate these games get, (BF4, Ghosts, and AC4) these are all big games that people want to play. And you also add the sport franchises to make these lineups good.

Which is just added proof to the argument that reviews dont mean shit. Word of mouth is king. The Wii U had better scoring games, yet the console itself had poor word of mouth. The PS4 has worse scoring games, yet has been the media darling since February.

Review scores are a pain in the arse. Its the content in the review that matters.

To counterbalance that Nintendo has a plethora of NIntendo specific magazines and outlets (I'm not counting the Eurogamer Europe ones here) that give Nintendo games, even the bad ones, high scores. The Official PS Magazine on the other hand is a harsh reviewer.

Well your buying the system for a 5 year period not for the launch lineup. PS4 is much more promising then the WiiU.
