Good point. I had pretty much forgotten about that as a feature. It is very interesting and I do recall a lot of buzz about the assymetric gameplay. But like the 3D in the 3DS, this seems to have fallen by the wayside and is pretty much a forgotten feature. Are any of the upcoming big games using this in any meaningful way? You have to say that, from what I have heard, none of the games so far have used it really well except for one or two (i.e. Zombie U).

Wii U never lacked games, that I have no idea which idiots claimed that, but I've been saying over and over the games weren't the problem. Wii U entered the market on the stigma of the Wii. Furthermore it had none of the hype that the Wii had. If anything it has been completely overshadowed in the market by things like the Iphone, and bad press claiming that the Wii U was just a new controller for the Wii....
Not to mention that the Iphone stole the casual market away from Nintendo. Rules for casuals:
1) Casuals are dumb and do what they are told. They will go where ever the media tells them to and the media is telling them to buy an iPhone.
2) Casuals are REALLY dumb, they will completely fail to research things for themselves and will jump at the easiest conclusions their tiny minds can fathom. IE "the Wii U is just another controller for the Wii", and "I'm afraid of computers, they ask me questions and stuff, I like being told things not asked!!!"

Sony showed with the PS3 that they could accommodate the best of 3rd party and a good lineup of exclusives right to the very end of the life-cycle, gamers know that they are going to have this machine for the better part of a decade, so even though the launch was lackluster they expect that over time it's going to be a great choice.
Personally, I see Sony's console as the best choice, but no games until march spark my interest.
Maybe because a game like NSMBU is much better than a game like Knack in pretty much every aspect?
And it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows with the Wii U's launch titles... both Zombi U and Nintendoland received mixed reviews across the board, and then there were all the 3rd party ports that were inferior to their PS360 counterparts either from a technical aspect or just lacking in content.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Call Tekken Tag garbage one more time and I swer to christ m8....
But let's be serious, the problem with all these launch line-up critiques is either:
1) They go into the launch of the platform expecting the entirety of the previous system's library available from day 1, and for some reason are legitimately appalled not to see Final Fantasy VII, Grand Theft Auto III, Super Metroid, Ocarina of Time etc. pop up out of game retailer's asses when the clock strikes midnight.
2) What exactly are the standards? A sole AAA game? Several AA games? Quantity of exclusive games? The scale that next-gen sports games deliver over current gen versions? Sounds more like the goalposts need to stop moving more than anything.

Wii U had a better line-up critically, but it was severely lacking in terms of system selling power. Third party titles had little system selling potential due to being late and/or inferior ports, and NSMBU's system selling potential was hindered by NSMB2 releasing a couple months beforehand. The system really only sold on hype, which is evident by how fast and low it's sales dropped off after the holidays.

Knack offers so much more than just being a bad game though.
You can use Knack the game as a euphemism, in place of words such as bad, not very good, utter crap and mediocre and other negative terms you can think of.
Ex: "that movie was so bad I'll give it a knack out of 10."
or
Ex:"That game was knacktacular"
NSMBU doesn't offer anything like that.
