Honestly, I've always loved the PS3's interface better than the Wii or 360 by a wide margin, and that reason was simplicity. it was just EASY. no hard to navigate menus, no complicated ads or shit unless you want them to show up, etc.

I was really worried when I saw the PS4's interface in reveal videos, since it looked like the hideous Xbox 360's interface, but now that I've use it, it seems to be aesthetically pleasing, like the Xbox 360's interface, with the simplicity of the PS3's.

I like it. I like it a lot. I just wish I knew how to sort it better so it wasn't just a string of 'most recently used software'. I'm sure once I figure that out, I'll like it a lot better than I already do.

If you liked XMB so much, you will find PS4 an absolute dream; its so much easier to navigate through.

That's what I just said.

We are talking only US right?

The way I see it...if PS4 is anything like PS2 then that will have a major impact on the success of the Xbox One and to a lesser extent the WiiU. I dont see how one can dominate and the other remains successful as well. Especially given the numbers of 360/wii/ps3 in the US. Success willobviously be relative to the old gen.

Thats just my opinion i could be wrong. I think we will see a 55/45 % split this gen in the US (talking PS4/XO here). I'm still not sure which console will get the upper hand though.

I think it's too early to gauge if the momentum in the US has shifted to Sony.

I think the PS4 will be a success in the realm of the PS2 if momentum holds up, but I don't think it will impact XB1 market share. By this point they are both well established brands with very successful track records. It's not like the Nintendo / Sega days where Nintendo maintain creditability and Sega destroyed there's leading to two failed consoles back to back. So I'd say its entirely possible for Sony to do numbers close to the PS2 with the PS4 and Xbox could very well do numbers similar to provided there is enough people buying both consoles over time. It's not uncommon these days for people to own two or three current generation consoles, so I'd say that is plausible.

As it stands I have full intentions of owning all three consoles this generation which will be the second time out of the 5 consoles generations I've been alive for.

Are yuo saying PS4 can sell 150mil yet have no effect on Xbox One? I dont agree with that...

Yes both consoles have a dedicated fanbase...but that dedicated fanbase is dwarfed by the majority of people who buy these systems. If one console has PS2 like dominance then the other will be negatively impacted.

I am the same I loved teh PS3 UI WAY more than the 360 or Wii for the EXACT same reasons, the simplicity! I had both and sometimes my father who is 58 would come over and while using both he liked how easy to understand it was on PS3 as opposed to 360. 360 is cool just not my cup of tea I guess...

I Really don't understand why there was such a pervasive belief that the PS3's XMB was somehow poor or lackluster.  I know it wasn't perfect when you were in game, but it was great for the most part, and far easier to understand than the 360's.

Thanks Ben, always appreciate when you share your perspective on things.

However, where is that Sony Megaton you mentioned prior to E3? Were you going off a hunch or do you in fact know it exists?

I disagree with that assement...if 150 million people buy a ps4 what is stopping that same 150 million people from also buying an Xbox One? While I doubt that would happen, the PS4 could do 100 million units while the XB1 could theretically maintian their current market share of 80 million or even marginally top it. The number of gamers has grown, disposable income is rising, and there are new territories that will be retailing consoles. It stands to reason, given the near even split of consoles sales world wide, if this generation sees a rapid increase in first time buyers, the PS4 could do similar numbers to the PS2 with minimal impact to the Xbox brand (if at all.)
